| Patrick had a virus & Tommy Lee got the nod ahead of Lunty. NB just clarified it on Radio Leeds.

| Tommy Lee impressed IMO. Looks like he's lost a bit of timber and broke the line numerous times. NB knows what he wants from his hookers and to see where Scott Moore has gone since he thought he had made it and then look at Lunt, Robbo and also what Lee did today then he should rethink his comments about wanting to represent England! No chance!

| Was a bit concerned when the rumours that Kev was to play at loose forward proved correct - but with a couple of rusty poor passes aside he played well. For me Grix was very good today also and our pivots and options were excellent. Well done to Leroy and Luke onn their 4 and 3 tries. Tommy Lee just gets better - what the hell is it with NB? He takes players that no one else wanted and gets them playing awesome RL. Can't wait to see how Tonks goes for us when he gets the chance!
Thought this one could have been a "banana skin" for us today - boy was I wrong!!!
Top of the. league and looking good.
Well done Giants - truly awesome performance - bring on the wire

| NB said he chose Lee over Lunty as he could cover for Brown if he struggled. I was happy with every player today. Greg Eden is definitely one for the future, as mentioned above he may have tried a bit too hard resulting in a couple of mistakes.
I was speaking with former fartowner Paul Jackson who is now at Cas who rates Eden very highly. Said he's a bit "raw" but will be awesome.
Some difficult decisions for NB next week!

| I wasn't really that impressed with Browny and if i'm honest i would have given him another couple of weeks as he didnt look up to speed - threw one or two wayward balls and seemed to almost get in the way of the halfbacks at time ...but i suppose match fitness comes with playing games.
Widnes were a very poor side i thought and needed some massive help from Ganson at times for it not to be a mammoth score, they created nothing and got a very lucky try in the end.
Thought Eden was very impressive again as was Fairbank, Crabtree led from the front with some good running and George and Leroy have shown today they will be a threat to most defenses this season.

| Maybe he rested him with an eye on the fact we have Wire next week and had Widnes today. Cover for if we lost and cover if we won.

Hey thats what he said to me kev Brown finished with his ankle strapped with ice again he said it was precautionary but still he was limping down the tunnel! Today was just too easy next week is the real test no offence to Widnes but they were quite clueless at times left us to dictate it too many times!

Give him a couple of years he will be pure class, fantastic acceleration and enthusiasm, good support player and positionally sound and still only 21, will iron out the errors with more apps for the first team no doubt.
Thought we played brilliantly yesterday, we had our usual lapse for their try but with 20min remaining i was expecting us to do our usual foot off the gas and concede 2/3 tries so that was quite pleasing. Big test next week against Wire.

| I think they were very lucky with their try personally, we had the winger closed down, Grix was covering the back and it was a wicked bounce that sat up for them that got the try.

| Eaden is the young guy we got from Cas Adelaide.
Very highly thought of and they offered him new contract but he decided to come to us instead, he is very pacy and plays predominantly fullback but also listed as winger/standoff. Will be a very good player if keeps progressing still very raw but potential is high. Has a decent game but just needs to learn to carry the ball in 2 hands!!! As for Brown moving to loose forward, said for a long time he isn't a standoff and never has been but now gives us that extra pivot, the jury is still out on Grix at SO but 2 outta 2 can't argue with that.
Need to keep feet firmly on ground all this season and as the old saying goes 1 game at a time. Defended well and Brpugh kicked well at Wigan, Played great rugby against Widnes and looked devastating out wide. Can mix it up this season which is good.
Bring on next Saturday and a good team in Wire and we can judge just where we are at present.

With the exception of the pass that went over George's head thought grixs passing was very slick.

| I thought Kev slotted into the LF exceptionally well. He looked far more at home than, IMHO, he ever has done at SO. No disrespect is intended to Kev whatsoever, But to me, he never looked comfortable in the halves. Now, I believe, he'll blossom into the outstanding player that he is.
Grixy looked alert and lively, spraying passes and involving players plus his usual support play. If he continues to improve - as he did at FB last season - we'll have not only one of the best half backs in the competition, but undoubtedly THE best half back paring in the Northern Hemisphere.
It makes your mouth water, doesn't it, having pivots like Broughy, Grixy, Robbo, Lunty, & Kev. Bring it on!!
