| very good points in the face of adversity yesterday!
losing connor and mcgillvary so early really messed up our team, we started of well too but once our back line got shuffled we struggled.
Glad it got sorted in the 2nd half, lawrence was switched as was broughton which really tightened up the defence,... lawrence on the wing and wood at centre didnt work first half!
wardle on the wing and patrick at centre in the 2nd!
cudjoe slotted in perfect at full back.
could of been a potential banana skin but we got the 2 points in terrible conditions too
gutted for connor . got his chance and now injured...was looking good too.. the injuries to bot connor and mcgillvary do not look good.. luckily we have grix and murphy to come back in.

| the difference in opinion on here is clear to see from those who actually saw the game with their own eyes and the ones who listened on the radio.
very good two points yesterday in the circumstances. But we just love to moan and bag players...even though some havent even watched the game!

| I listened on radio....and Ive thought before how different it seems when reading posts from fans who have been there ( I avoid the club / examiner propaganda match reports)
I think the radio commentator feels like he has dramatise everything,....we are fantastic....we are appalling....ref missed a blatant penalty etc etc
Games are not that extreme usually, so I do tend to take the radio commentary with a big big pinch of salt.
Much better are some of the tweets from giants fans there on twitter - gahan and hudds giant To name 2 - I find more accurate of reality.
2 great points - banana skin avoided - and better prep for future games to come, having a physical and mental battle like yesterday than a 40 point give-me game.

| Gahan at a game? You sure?
Nice little ground, I didn't sample the food but everyone who did praised it. And not the usual big company beer neither its not often you find mcewans lager on tap south of the border but as soon as I saw estrella on tap I had to have some as its not often found in pubs never mind football grounds! Also a decent hand pulled cask ale too!

| Giants vs (insert whichever team you like):-
No energy, enthusiasm, aggression, will to win, this season we are dire and dont seem interested. There hasnt been 1 game where we have looked comfy and blown the opposition away including the Bulls with Chev Walker at Prop.
RL is a tough tough game and you cant just turn it on and off when you choose, With the right attitude we'd have beaten Hull KR, Catalans away and Widnes away. We'd of hammered the likes of Bradford and London away rather than giving these teams encouragement and a sniff that they are always still in the game.
Next week I want to see every player 1-17 whoever picked fired up and angry, hurting their opponents in defence, fighting for a quick play the ball, dont want to see any offloads from Bradford where we have 3 men in the tackle and their player still stood up. Want to see the Bradford players eating grass and looking like they dont wanna see a rugby ball again and then I want to see that week after week for the rest of the season. So far we have been shocking and people can say we picking up points playing poorly as if thats a good thing? Need a massive kick up the booty and quick.
Last game out The Giants (League Winners) struggled against a London team who'd posted the following results over last few weeks:-
London Broncos 16 - 44 Warrington
Sat 15 Mar
London Broncos 22 - 50 Wakefield
Fri 21 Mar
Leeds Rhinos 54 - 6 London
Thu 27 Mar
London Broncos 6 - 54 Castleford
Fri 4 Apr
Catalan Dragons 40 - 24 London
Fri 11 Apr
Wigan Warriors 36 - 14 London
Thu 17 Apr
London Broncos 22 - 28 Catalan
Mon 21 Apr
Hull FC 40 - 4 London Broncos
Thu 1 May
St Helens 48 - 18 London
Should be setting our sights a little higher imo if we ever gonna step up to the next level.

You do spout some absolute negative rubbish. The giants have won four on the bounce but according to you there is no effort.
You mention the Bradford game.Remind me what score that was. I could carry on but I won't because you post just makes me so angry.

we hammered bradford 66-18 without getting out of 2nd gear so not sure where you're coming from on that?
as for yesterday, there are 2 teams playing, could it have been that london played well? they do seem to be improving week on week so maybe we didn't blow them away because they stuck to their task well?
like i said previously, we have won 4/4 thats 8 points, we are 5th in the table more or less halfway, we haven't been playing particularly well but you don't get extra points for playing scintillating stuff and blowing opponents away every week... warrington did that the other year but then were walloped in the play offs.
put it this way, i would rather be 5th having won our last 4 games unconvincingly than be 10th and having the odd blow out win to crow about.

sorry to upset ya fella but im not for a minute gonna pretend im happy with how we are going this season. I stick by what I said, Bradford next then 3 tough games in Wigan, Saints and Leeds and if we put the same effort we have against Widnes and Catalans to name 2 we wont get many wins. That is my opinion and im bloody angry too with what I feel is a lack of urgency and enthusiasm so far this season. We won the League last year by putting the hardwork in and have kept the same squad, Wire and Wigan have both lost top top.players and are weaker for it. We should have kicked on from.last season and it hasnt happened. Sorry but ask around and reckon majority agree we not where we should be.

They don't try hard enough! Unforgivable.'"
Wow. 4 wins on the bounce. 5th in the table. Yet, according to some on here PA should be under pressure to go. The guy who won us the LLS in his 1st full season as gaffer. I must be missing something.
We all know that we haven't peaked yet (playing wise)but were in a healthy position in the table as we get towards the meaty part of the season. The London game was changed on its head when we lost 2 backs in the 1st 20 minutes, playing against a team who had just changed gaffer, who had a point to prove. And we came through it. Not trying hard enough? Don't see it.
In Anderson we trust.

| I do see it- I'm not going to fault Saturday because the circumstances were difficult following the injuries- and we kept London scoreless in the second half.
But had the players played with the same intensity they had for widnes, Catalan KR and hull as they did for Leeds saints and Cas we'd be up there with Leeds at the top.

I even left Hull out of my list and gave em benefit of doubt with the short turnaround but its the little things like fighting to get up for a quick ptb, Jerry only one to do this and gets penalties for us off back of it (thats enthusiasm!!), making sure tackled man is floored, we have 3 tacklers all upstairs sometimes and then they get a pass away? (thats effort to bend your back and ground em!!) must be biggest pack in SL but so many times we have been out muscled (thats a will to win). We were beating Warrington then stayed in the sheds at halftime and didnt score a point second half. Need to be ruthless

| I agree to a point with FP.....i would like to see us work harder in certain areas as to me, and others, it looks like we cannot be bothered at times which is frustrating, i'm not expecting us to blow teams away every week but i would like to see a bit more enthusiasm and urgency at times.
Saying that we are picking points up at the same time and moving up the table, Bradford, London, Salford etc are playing bad and not winning so at least that's a positive.
Things like getting the quick play the ball should be something we are encouraged to do with our back line but we just seem to lay there and wait.
Wasn't at London so can't comment but those kind of games against the struggling teams are all about getting the win and making sure we avoid a banana skin, in that sense job done down there !.

| just got back from a nice long weekend in London. what stood out for me was how easily London where getting down field this is before any injury's the week before the couldn't get of there 25 .fans pay a lot on money to watch a game like that and after going to France as well i to think its about time our pack started punting in the effort and dominating teams.all this about its does not matter to the playoff start is rubbish it matter to fans who spend there money every week.

This has been a feature of our season. Our line speed is very hit and miss, even within a game.

| Not just me then that can see where we are lacking, I've watched the team for years and not just having a go for having a go's sake. I can see the issues, so im damn sure the coaches can and its not something that takes alot of sorting. Thats my issue.

| My issue is at times this year against the 'little team' we have looked uninterested and that worries me. We have also only had one game this season where we have played well for 80 mins and that's Wigan! I still think we have the potential to go all the way to the Grand Final but it is just a concern of mine!

Uninterested??????
That is only your perception.
If that were the case then Baloo would have them no where near the team sheet.
These are professionals and as such go out each game to win, nothing less is acceptable.
Saturdays' game was marred by us losing two backs in short order, even the best NRL sides would have had major problems with that. Half time and a few reshuffles and the problem is sorted.
That, for me, showed strength in depth and damn fine team management.
I'm happy Keep up the good work PA.

I disagree, rather than be uninterested the opposite is true. Far too often this season we have tried too hard to win games or score tries rather than playing our game and letting the result take care of itself. We have a tendency to overplay at times which results in silly dropped balls or players getting isolated.
Both Hull KR and Widnes results stemmed from a player panicking and trying to get an off-load away under pressure in his own half rather than taking the tackle getting to the end of the set and getting the kick away. We did the same thing against Cas which led to them getting back in the game.
Same against Hull we go behind and start trying to get the miracle play (plus we looked absolutely knackered). Warrington is a confidence thing PA may not admit it but our players get into a dark place against Warrington an once they go behind they struggle to get back.

spot on.
we need to do what we were doing last season and completing sets, doing the basics and building pressure! the rest follows from that.
we try to score off every play sometimes!
hopefully we peak at the business end of the season, cant do it all season long
