Great to Brett in the line up again, pity about Briers for Wire, but both teams look very strong.

Can't wait should be a cracker.

Well it was a cracker, wrong result, too many silly errors from us at crtical times.

Could of gone either way, but it's at the business end of the season that'll matter and I think both clubs will be there abouts.

Think we played into their hands today by keeping the ball in the forwards and trying to break them down the middle. But they didn't crack and were probably the better team throughout the second half.
In the first half we had a brief spell where we dominated by spreading the ball wide, scored two tries then went back to down the middle. Boring negative play.
Agree with Code13, there were too many errors from both sides, scrappy play which kept the crowd quiet today.
At least Smith maintained the new refereeing stance and ignore mostly everything, letting the game trundle on.

We didn't deserve to win but we didn't deserve to lose. It was a good game but a bit scrappy by both sides. I don't know what Higham's problem was but he was looking for bother all game. We forced things sometimes and made some dumb decisions.

A draw to me would have been the best result but we live to fight another day.

For me Gilmour was our best today. If Browny had played second half as he did the first he would be MOM and we would have won the game.

Good game.But forget the result the ref was very bad. dodgy decisions.

Seemed ok to me, nothing much to complain about from him.

I went neither team can complain about the ref today.
Although there was some funny decisions given for both sides.

Smith was crap imo for both.

Myler notry was a try. Had there been a vid ref it would have stood
Lawrence should have seen yellow.
We knocked on on our 20 after your guy tried to offload which was missed
Solomona stole the ball one on one but you got a penalty

Well i guess you had a closer view of mylers try, so i cant comment on that!
There was no intent in Lawrances tackle. And your guy milked it for all it was worth, i doubt we will hear anymore about that!
Solomona can't takle one on one. He's never isolated in the middle of the pack! A hand in means 2 in the tackle!
Both sides offside and lying on, and the knock on i agree with, but if both sides are doing it and getting away with it there is no reason to complain. Different refs have different interpratations and standards.

And one missed knock on in 80 mins is not bad at all really!

Would have liked to have seen the ref get some assistance from the linesmen. Twenty years ago they weren't afraid to give a forward pass, knock on etc. These days all they seeem to do is mark touch on penalties and check the line.

My only concern abot the ref wa sthge irony of us being pinged for a high tackle ( which it was) but there were two awful high tackles from Anderson one on Aspy in the firdt half that went completely unpunished.

I really thought at half time we would kick on to win it but Wires defence was very good in the second half and our attack did not really function . a bit like at Hull we could have won off the scraps we got but did not really deserve the win.

Agree with Dan that Brown was superb in the first half and defensively did well in the second.

thought fa alogo did well playing a different role today more involved in the middle and thought Aspy did a tonne of work. I get the feeling that Lunt is happier when he starts a game.

Still i look forward to next week.

The linesman intervened in the first half which resulted in us getting a penalty. Only once though.

Thought both sides made too many mistakes. We had the first half and Wire the second. I was hoping we would continue the second half playing well but we just kept dropping the ball trying to barge through.

I would have kicked the penalty just before half time. As the game panned out, points were at a premium and pressure would have been on Wire to score. They know how solid our defence is and maybe they would then have been forced into making errors. A couple of times at 10-10 in the second half near their posts a couple of drop goals would have added to that pressure.

Well done Wire for the win but as pointed out, hopefully we will both be there abouts come play off time.

Great game. Both sides play well and will both be there or there abouts come the playoffs. Was impressed with Kevin Brown today for hudds, looked dangerous everytime he had ball in hand.

Thought Aspers did really well but would like to see Horne show a bit more urgency. He was too casual for me and at times the entire team were a bit stand off-ish and casual with the defenisve line pushing.

In a way I thought we were outneedled. What with Morley and his usual lazy arm, Westwood and Higham looking to kick off with anyone that was near him it put us off a bit. We kind of missed Mason for what he would do in retort but that's not to say Patrick didn't play his part because he did.

For them I thought Carvell had one or two real blockbusting runs, King did well and I thought that in general they defended really well.

A tough game that could have gone either way. A lot of the game was played in the forwards but that was always to be expected in a close game on a heave pitch.
I agree Kevin Brown had a great first half but the rest of our playmakers were not at their best.
Gilmour Patrick Faiumu Apinwall Cudjoe and Raleigh all had good games. However one or two of our better players did not play their best today. Crabtree has to do more. After his first drive he did very little. He should be giving the Giants the same sort of go forward that Carvell gave to Warrington.
Not too disppointed though as it was a close game and Warrington are a good team.

also missed was i think it was brown chinning myler and hudd defused the bomb in goal and smith gave us the scrum didn't have aclue he was awful for both teams

That was an odd decision - Hudds diffused the bomb in-goal and the ref gave a drop out.

Smith was errrr, unpredictable today but it didn't affect the result in hindsight.

He also missed Higham kicking off with anything within a farts sniff of him. Has his wife done a Terry with one of our lads or something?

Was Mather blood binned near the beginning, because the ref was waving his arm around, but he never actually went off? Did it count as one of their interchanges? Seemed odd.

He got shown the blood bin card but didn't go off. Bit farcical the ref allowing him to stay on after that, especially with the Wire physio taking an absolute eternity to make his mind up whether or not he should go on!
