think it's a bit harsh to say he was poor, he didn't do too much wrong IMO and didn't have much chance in attack.'"
dont think anderson will agree on monday when he doesnt play

| if he doesn't play then that's not because he was poor it's because cudjoe and murphy are the first choice in those positions and broughton isn't.

| I noticed with Jerry and Jodie playing with Grix as the back 3 we resorted back to the jog and give it to the winger tactic again, we haven't been doing this much with Murphy there and all 3 (Grix, Smurph and Jerry) have made good yards by just running hard - is it something Baloo thinks works better with Broughton in the side cos in my opinion it actually loses us ground as the opposition can read it like a book and are on the receiver before hes got the ball.

| Well disappointed as I thought we could put ourselves solidly in the top part of the league over Easter. This is more to do with my over optimism than anything. This league is proving to be very very tight and with the exception of wakey at the min who are down 12 in people any team can beat any other side!
We shouldn't have to but we didn't play to how child's was officiating. We were determined in defence but as we coughed the ball up cheaply we were bound to concede points.
Positives to take away,
we didn't look tiered after all that defence
The atmosphere was much improved on all our fixtures at home so far. Well done to the lads and lasses at the back
Even being under the pump we still looked like we could get something at the later stages and managed to keep within six points

Frustrating as hell! I can understand running the the centre and delaying the tackle so we can get more players back but sometimes you need to get your head down and charge at the line! Giving up ten to twenty meters to pass to a winger? Not for me!

| Thing is it's obviously a coaching decision to do that but folk get on on Grixy's back for 'not bloody running' whixh is unfair as i'm sure he'd like to have a crack at a broken defensive line like Jerry does - Broughton doesn't offer anywhere near that same threat.

I agree.
Grix is our best full back but on a lot of occasions last night he collected the ball and ran across the pitch 20 metres and gave it to Jerry to run back by which time the defenders were on him.
He should be told run it back and voluntary tackle if you have to but he could have made more yards.
If Jerry had not been so tired he might not have gifted that try to Salford when he should have knocked the ball dead

Like I said there are times running it to the middle is the preferred option for example if there are no players back with him the longer he takes to get tackled the longer our players get to get back and it means the defensive line has to be across the field instead of just to the left or right but he wasn't looking to run back hard at any point and he had been mixing it up prior to this!
I like grix, thought Connor did little wrong to get dropped but grix is so much more in attack popping up everywhere and chiming into the line! Awesome on his day just wasn't the best from him that game

| That's about what I would have said brearley. A lot more than they have brought for the last few years.... If they've brought a third of their home crowd that's some doing- But remember- it's only us that have poor crowds!!!!!
Wasn't the crowd at Cas /Leeds fantastic- just under 10,000 the 'official' figure although they announced more at the game.
Filled the ground, fantastic turn out blah blah stevo, yet we get 10,000 for a Leeds game and we get blasted - stadium empty where are the fans blah blah stevo.

| 2 and a half blocks were open on that stand and the 2 were about 70% full - i would have said about 700-800 but if that's what the club have said then fair enough. Amazing really considering that in their last 2 visits they haven't brought over 250 here but a few wins brings half their entire home support out !! proves that most people will only watch a winning team.

And you could have had many more if your club had not refused to provide more tickets after Salford sold out their allocation.

Refused- or recognised it was pointless given by the time they arrived they would have had to be sent back.
You not got phones or the internet in salford? free click and collect too difficult for you- or just an excuse?

| As far as i know once a club has sold out it's initial allocation it can request extra tickets as long as the stand isn't full which it clearly wasn't...in fact the area that was available to Salford fans was not even full - there were plenty of spare seats at the front of the 2 blocks, probably a good few hundred seats still left. Plenty more Salford fans could have paid on the day.

Seeing that the kids swap tickets ran out early Wednesday and you only sent 500 tickets in total and as stated 1000 plus attended it looks like fans did use the click and collect but a lot of those with kids voucher swop tickets were refused the facility to swop at your
ticket office so did not attend.
Your childish comments about internet and phones in Salford does not help a sport that is increasingly finding it difficult to attract fan.

| We ordered on line in the end. I phoned Huddersfielad and was told that they only made the season ticket swap available for the initial allocation to Salford and once they'd gone that was the lot. Poor do that. Been able to use my son's season ticket on the day at Cas, Wakey, London and Warrington but Huddersfield said no over 24 hours before. I know it's only a fiver but not known that before and will probably have put some off.
That said the click and collect worked really well, no queue and the lack of swap was only down side against the usual good trip to Huddersfield, always made to feel welcome and most fans are good on the forums

| To be fair you've brought no more than a couple of hundred in your last 3 visits here so going by that 500 would have been adequate numbers, obviously your extra fairweather fans caught the Giants out this time then.

Correct but Warrington accommodated a following of 2000 by supplying extra tickets as and when they were sold for a stadium with half the available capacity. Thanks for the faifairweather fans remarks I've been saying for over thirty years I'd love to hear fans of other clubs calling us glory hunters

| however many Salford brought, it was far and away the most they have ever brought to the stadium in 20 years.
it must beg the question, that if the interest in Salford RL is there, which it was on friday night why are the crowds so poor at home?
obviously it could be that those who came on friday are the home support, but i suppose it shows, that if Salford do get some success then the interest is certainly there, sadly unlike us.

The answer to that question is the AJ BELL Stadium unfortunately it started off with problems and a lot of people now won't attend I live to the east of Manchester and on Friday I came to Huddersfield by train that also included a part bus replacement. I made the 8:15 train to Ashton-under-Lyne picked the car up and was home before 9pm that's roughly 75mins. When I'm at the AJ BELL I'm lucky if I get home inside two hours.

I'm sure if your club had requested more tickets after the original 500 had been sold they would have got some. Maybe Salford presumed 500 would be enough too.

That request was made on Wednesday morning but was refused and fans were directed to the Giants click and collect sight but the Giants refused to allow the junior season ticket vouchers to be exchanged either online or at the stadium and that's why some people with kids did not attend.
I'm not having a pop at Huddersfield our stadium also make it difficult at times for supporters to attend and as a sport it's something that we should strive to avoid at all costs.
