slightly OT having watched a rerun of the game this morning did anyone see the huddersfield baby dummy & face painted me heart just sank for him cause of the hiding you team was recieving not tryin sound big headed there ! , anyway back on topic huddersfield are officially my 2nd team BIG thanks to all you guys your a credit to our game , anyway take credit in being the only team that have managed to beat us twice this year cause wigan saints & leeds aint managed it , good luck next week

correct me if I am wrong but I thought it was a nice touch to congratulate us on a full seasons efforts....not a one off match.

Also, I'm pretty sure the banner would have been used regardless of what last nights result was....and the response from us Wires fans would have been the same....appreciation for a genuine show of sportsmanship by Giants fans.

This world stinks of people wrapped up in their own selfishness and self importance...last nights gesture was a breath of fresh air in a cynical self obsessed world.

Rugby is just a game..nobody dies..ffs...people need to get some perspective.

Well i dont know about you personally but the guys who made and held the banner have always had a great relationship with the Wire fans and it was to show our appreciation to our friends on what they have achieved.....it wasn't done for a one off game it was done as a culmination of their brilliant season.

There's too many rivalries and hostilities these days so its nice to show the opposite side who have always been friends and great hosts to us, not rivals, that we as RL fans appreciate their achievements.
Were not looking for praise or brownie points, we did it out of our own personal wishes towards our friends at Warrington !!!!!

maybe next year we can throw bottles at them and kick their children if you want !!

Blimey Brearley84 you want to stop eating those limes, the Wire topped the league for the first time in well over a generation, they have a great set of fans, every time I go over there they've been great.

I seem to recall how they to a man congratulated us when we beat Saints at the HJ semi, it was an opportunity to applaud them for a terrific season that 1 day I hope we can emanate.

Thanks to all involved with the making and showing of the banner/flag true sportsmanship its the talk of our town at the moment well done guys

It was for one of us teams who are not usually one of 'the big four' finishing top of the league - Not for taking us to the cleaners last night. Terrible feeling being nilled like that but it's not the first time this season.

The flag idea was because when we beat Saints in the CC semi-final the other year at the HJ your fans were stood cheering our fans on the way home. Some had made plackards congratulating us on the victory. That was a great feeling and I thought we should repay the compliment. I know Saints are your rivals but still, some took time to do it. Also, I was surprised when Ken Davy announced free entry to a game against Catalan Dragons the other year and a group of Wire fans sat with the Giants fans and applauded the Giants when we scored. We were surprised, expecting you supporting the visitors.

The bitter b*st*rds criticising us would never understand. Both Leeds and Bradford had plackards in the rear windows of their supporters coaches travelling to the CC final at Twickenham supporting us. Awesome.

Had to laugh at a Wigan fan saying we were a club with new fans. 1965 my first Huddersfield RLFC game. Even played on the Fartown pitch in the 70s for the junior club. Any other posters on here that went to training at Fartown on Sunday mornings as kid in the early 70s?

I'll support the Giants until I draw my last breath but I can also applaud achievements by another club. Well Done Wire.

Don't worry about the cynics. People who put emotional effort into criticising others, when that effort could be used constructively and positively , are just demonsratring a reflection of their own very sad and sorry lives.

Exactly ...it takes as much effort to say well done to than it does to poo-poo it.
What we did didnt just put our group in a good light it put Huddersfield fans in a good light and RL fans in general ...like has been said you would.nt get that in any other sport.

Fantastic Gesture by your fans, I honestly believe that the Huddersield club, should reward those involved, by giving you free season tickets for next season. Too many posts on here slag off opposing fana. Good luck in the next game and you will always be welcome at the Halliwell Jones

like has been said already there is a great mutual respect between us and wire fans thats developed,it was evident after the 09 semi final and was there at wembley,and it's carried on.
i can honestly say that i have never experienced nothing but friendliness at warrington and i hope they feel the same coming here.
people who criticise what we did are just buffoons who have no sense of sportsmanship,appreciation or general rules of being a rugby league fan.i eas brought up by older fans at fartown to respect the opposition as much as possible and to show appreciation when necessary,friday night was our chance to congratulate and show our appreciation for warrington's brilliant season,and also to thank them for our friendly welcomes whenever we go to warrington,it just happened that we got that chance as they received the LLS.

i like to think most fartown fans are genuine RL fans as well as giants fans who can see the bigger picture and not be so one eyed as other clubs fans, rugby league fans are a great bunch of people and it's only right that we show gratitude,appreciation and respect for other clubs from time to time.

sayin that,if we beat leeds on friday and have to go to wire again i hope we smash them and end their season

If you did get to the final and we didn't, i think you might have a bigger following than you would expect, likewise if we get there and Hudds don't, sit in the wire end and help us out

After Sundays attendance at Leeds, you should keep your trap shut :- just over 9000 and Hull brought a good few over. Now that is poor for Leeds.

Have you started on the "Well done Leeds" flag yet ? How many did you get against catalans in the challenge cup 5th when your season ticket holders had to pay, 3,000 wasn't it? Don't worry we'll be bringing more than that over on friday night to create a bit of atmosphere.
