Let's hope the admission prices are reasonable enough to entice the casual/floaters/armchair fans out for this one. Should be a great game between 2 evenly matched teams, better a 10,000 crowd paying £10 - £15 than 5,000 at £20 - £24. The hardcore supporters from both clubs will be there whatever but we really need to try and encourage people to get out of the comfort of their armchairs and get down there in good numbers to create a real cup tie atmosphere in front of the tv cameras. The pull of the CC has for one reason or another lost it's magic and apart from the semis/final only the diehards seem interested enough to attend the earlier rounds. Hope RHP and his team get their fingers out and bring out "family/group deals" realistic pricing a good publicity drive etc etc to try and ensure this fixture attracts a crowd that it deserves. I personally can't wait to watch this match and will pay whatever but a lot of people will be waiting to see what the prices are before deciding whether to go to the match or get the beer in, pull up the armchair and watch the rugby grab a bit of tea and then tune into the FA Cup Final.

Great same day as holiday cup final when are people gonna realise that there are people that play rugby on a Saturday and end these stupid kick off times just taking numbers off the attendance.

Wonder if they will consider moving the Holliday cup to an earlier kick-off, which will allow folk to go straight down to the game ?

No offence but would be nice to see two teams who are not Wire or Leeds make Wembley, I guess at least you beat them there which is funny in itself but hopefully one team who have not been there for say, I dunno, 4 years make it

To be fair Saturday is the sensible day for the BBC to show it as if on a Sunday alot of RL fans are out supporting their own sides so viewing figures will not include the people most interested in watching games.

who says these people are going to be in on a Saturday afternoon and not watching or playing amateur across the country I bet if it was on tv on a sat or sun the viewing figures wouldn't differ greatly. Clubs shouldn't play games before 6 on a sat and if they do they have no right to complain about having crap attendances.

Do you honestly think a 6pm kick off gate will beat a 2.30pm one??? And on Cup Final Day it would really be shooting the game in the foot.

I believe 9 times out off 10 you'd get a bigger gate after 6 than you would before 6 I didn't know it was the cup final on the 11th so granted that would be stupid.

it wouldn't bother me if all clubs were amateur least you'd know all the lads would be going out there for the right reasons and if we win and theres 1,500 great I've said before the atmosphere used to be better when we were rubbish and there was less fans there.

Not got any stats regarding this but think the few Sat/Sun 6pm games we've had, have been played in front of far smaller gates than if we'd have had a normal Sunday afternoon KO.

Holliday Cup always used to be an 11am kick off IIRC

Just had an e-mail to say the Holliday Cup has been moved to Sunday 12th May with a 2.30pm kick-off at the YMCA - well done Sue Taylor!

makes sense, means fans can go to both now - will be nice for Giants fans to show their appreciation and attend the HC final now.

I read somewhere it would be a great gesture back by the Giants to give tickets to both clubs playing in Holiday Cup and have em on the field at halftime.

Dont think that would have been feasable given that they charge for it, how would they charge ST holders ? good idea in theory though, but i think the best gesture would be to turn up to the YM and watch it....always enjoyed it when i've been.

Oh I agree it wouldn't be easy - so I'm really not criticising, just saying it would be a brilliant day of RL for us speccies, and maybe a great day for the cup finalists too
