It is a big shame for the lad, but latest we've heard was it's ligament damage which wll rule him out next week, the message relayed on Sky was he was hoping to get back for the grand final, a little presumptuous maybe, but hope he's right.

If anyone told me at the start of the season, that come August the Giants would have a chance to win the double, and they could send a team of kids to Saints and get harshly beaten by just 2 points, I'd've said they were mad.

Barracudas, going bust, GiantEagles making us the most despised team in RL, 4 years at the foot of Superleague etc, it's impossible to express in words how good it feels currently to be a Giants fan. they did but the point I'm making, is we were that close to getting a point out of the game, a game Sky and many others didn't think we had the right to even field a team like that against Saints.

Watching the build up I think they were planning to rip us to shreds. To be fair it would have been a win too if it wasn't for Elliot Hodgesons non knock on. That said the ref made errors that benefited us too so we can't grumble too much.

One thing it will do for the reserve players is give them some valuable experience, and not only that some amazing self belief.

Can you imagine how any of the boys will feel this morning?

Yes they lost but they were playing against players who they'd have been watching win challenge cup after challenge cup then suddenly they're up against them on the park.

The important thing is they now know they can complete, they know that playing as a team is what gets them there and doing all the things that the coaching team tells them will bring them success.

Im STILL smiling this morning, a team of so called `stars` humbled by a team given absolutely NO HOPE before kick off came within a wisker or should that be Hodgsons fingertips of coming away with an almighty upset at the Knowsley rd dump , onwards and upwards boys.
