| Quote ="Crackerjack"Dont you lot ever learn??
Dont argue with the lady
If Jools has him pencilled in for full back - with Andersons support --then thats where he`ll play!!
My genuine doubts spring from the fact that quote " we dont want another change at full back although thats what it is as Tansey was playing there albeit on a temp basis
And whilst I love the idea of a Brett Hodson coming into the line asextra support I have an inbuilt belief that a full back should be able to form a reliable last line of DEFENCE
Damn it -thats what Grix has taken somuch flack for
It might be great that he can organise the defensive line in front of him, but if they break through that and as some have said the last tackle is missing --whats it worth??
Still claim play him (Brier4ley)where hes best instead of trying to "convert"him and if we do need a full back -then look for one It might not be easy but cant see point of trying to get the lad at his age to "adapt"
In our present position its too big a gamble and as I said remember poor Chris Thorman( unless someone CAN convince me that worked out absolutely right!
What next ??
Aaah -when Broughy finally goes - perhaps we can buy a full back --and convert him to an half back eh??
Extract it if you want --but in my view - just as farcical!-- and we could tempt fate twice eh??
Bets on an each way double??
However - if the opening idea IS correct --Ill have my digits tightluy crossed (although we COULD end up with two halbacks --or two full backs !! We could always sell one after converting em
'"
Well everybody has their ideas about where players should be, and we are all coaches when on the Keyboard. I agree with most of what you say about Brierley, I could live with him at fullback myself in the hope he may be able to emulate Hodgson to some extent, What I will be interested in is what's going to happen when Grix gets back ( about 5 weeks now apparently ) and where do we get a halfback from if Brierley stays fullback. All we will have done is cure a problem that's needed curing for a long time, we will still be in the same poor position regarding halves, If Brough should go ( god forbid ) then we are completely screwed
Grix it seems is the reason we have been poor, his organization is what the problem is all about, The forwards can play with so much more confidence knowing Grix can tell them where to be in defence.
Despite all this Mr Anderson is grooming Brierley to take Grix's place, Apparently on the strength of the opinions of a few Leigh fans who think his best position would be fullback , ( although he didn't play there for them ) and the opinions of our expert coaching staff who have done their part, no doubt, in coaching us to the bottom of the league.
That is harsh I know but it is the reality of the situation, For whatever the reasons, we are making a complete B********s of things, There is a lot more to it than just where to play Brierley, but if he is going to be fullback then leave him there and give him a chance whatever happens with Grix, We just need to realize that as good as he is at following the half breaks, it is all wasted if there are no offloads, and it doesn't cure the halfback situation.

| Half time 16-12 to Cas. Defensively we have been awful- and I'm sorry to say although he's being aggressive in defence and kicking ok brough has been shocking ball in hand.
Still not getting up in the opposition faces- Poor line speed.

| Well 8 points up- 3 tries scored on Jerrys outside -again. When will that get sorted???
Twice we knock on 10 metres in front because brough can't put a ball in someone's hand. Shocking.

| Our defence is a disgrace, while patchy going forward we are scoring enough to win matches. Our defensive systems just don't work or the players do not believe in them. That is a coaching issue in my opinion (KP not PA is responsible for defence). We will not win many until we sort that. The happy chapters should note Cas had a substantial injury list. We have plenty good players but are currently poop, very poop actually.
Lack of fitness also evident again. Just not good enough.

| Absolutely shocking following from you lot today,I know results haven't gone your way but that turn out was truly embarrassing.
The game itself was entertaining but worrying for both clubs with shocking defence and mistakes.
Not even going to mention some of the decisions made from the ref.
The only saving grace for cas is that we have big playmakers coming back, but if there not showing up in the next month or so I can see us keeping you company in the bottom 4.

Cas were missing key players, some sat in the stands who would be in our first choice 17 (Dorn, Solomona, Shenton, Monaghan, Roberts, Moors, Holmes) and others who would have been the ones to replace them (Springer, Mariano). I'm not sure of the injury list at Huddersfield (no Jamie Ellis I notice) but if Cas can beat an almost full-strength side with that kind of injury list, Huddersfield are destined for the bottom 4.

Aww bless - how would you know -you don't have an away end?
Nice of you to come on here though- we are playing badly and can't get a win - hope it makes you feel a bit better about how poor you are.
As for the injury list- we had 3 pull out this morning and Leroy had a fitness test at the side of the pitch before kick off. But yeah Cas are struggling.

| we scored 34 points today and scored enough against salford recently too win a game.
its a shame our defence is shot to pieces and that we just cant seem to win once we hit the front, we was 10 points ahead in the 2nd half at one stage!
lots of errors and forward passes but cas were just as bad.
looking like the middle 8's for us this season unless theres a massive turnaround, start planning for next season.
taai was good today and huby played ok too
we had more disruption with wood (another groin injury) and leeming and johnson falling ill so that didnt help

| Yeah- brierley was targeted by Cas today but he handled everything well. Some nice movement in the line too, brough missed a couple of great chances to pass to him - in fact brough was extremely hit and miss today! Some shocking shocking passes

| Brierley is wasted at full back.
Absolutely horrendous game. Can't even say it was entertaining because the tries were that soft. Both teams were guilty of numerous handling errors and forward passes, just the basics were way off. At 30 22 with 13 mins to go Id imagine paul Anderson will have pulled his last remaining hair out at how Huddersfield played the next 5 minutes . Overall , as a Cas fan I'm happy of the 4 points over easter but we are miles away. As for Huddersfield, change of coach might spring some life into your disinterested team.

| brierley looks very solid under the high ball
the more him and brough get to know each other with combos the better
agree about brough being hit and miss yesterday with some of his passing being poor, or is it the players not catching the ball! either way not good enough and puts us under too much pressure in defence which we can do without at the moment

No his passes were off- too low, too high, not in the "bread basket" too early or too late.... I can't recall ever seeing brough have a top notch game playing Cas at the Castleford ground....

| I watched Brierley yesterday and to say he looked a frustrated man was an understatement, i reckon with the right pass he could have had a hat-trick, on at least 4 occasions the play was set up for him to come round the back and create a 4 on 2 and every single time - and mainly from Broughy - it was completely ignored and we opted for the flat pass to the nearest man, fired at pace, which resulted in the man not expecting it to drop it....Ryan was stood there arms aloft shaking his head.
Were these plays set up that way and did we just choose to try and fool the defence or was it good line running from Ryan that just wasn't spotted ?
Either way we blew those chances.
Thought once again Ta'ai, Rapira and Hinchliffe were our best players with Connor not far behind....in fact i could probably pick the same 4 from every game !
Leroy and Jerry looked good in attack but shocking defensively, but then again most of them were yesterday.

Yup I agree with that but Connor needs to learn to defend out wide his role in the try we conceded just before half time was poor and Brieley could be something special if we learn how to use him
