| Quote ="Rupert Pupkin"Do any of you guy's think the player involved in the tackle on roughly 55 mins will be up in front of the disciplinary panel this week for use of a graple tackle?'" no, thats hull kr's forte is that
i dont know what was wrong with us last night to be honest, dont take anything away from cas, who's players wanted it more, they built up a fairly fortunate 12-0 lead and then went hell bent on saving that, completely the opposite to the cup game when they kept tryin to attack even in their own '20, last night it was equivalent to a football team "putting 10 men behind the ball" they never gave us a sniff, and the slightest whiff we did have we bombed, yet again!! i dont think i've seen a team bomb as many chances as we do.yesterday however we created very little, our backs seem to have lost pace too, is D hodgson carrying an injury? because he looked very very slow and lethargic.
also i dont understand this whole changing a winning team thing, crabtree has been amazing coming off the bench punching holes in defence's so why start with him? surely as one of our main impact players starting the game negated this?
we need to start getting it sorted on our own patch if we are still going to make the play offs as others are starting to pick wins up now

| Crabtree to be fair was one of the few that can hold his head up still I think, still skittled them about even from the start.

| going a little o/t now but this loss isnt all bad. quins got a good hiding so although we lost we still move up to 4th with a points difference 20 better off than quins.
we need to start taking our chances and cutting out the errors starting next week at salford. this season is still in our own hands so come on the giants!!!

| And the stupid, crazy thing is, but for a different bounce, a different call just once, we might have still won it
Ah well, still in the top 6, and more than enough time to make top 4.

| Quote ="Code13"Thats where we differ, the ref is there to make sure the game is played to the rules, not "let it flow"
When that happens, games can be killed by offsides and laying on, I think Ganson is an apalling ref and more interested in his own screen time than the game he is watching, or, as was shown on more than one occaision last night, not watching.'"
But, also games can be killed with persistent 'pinging' of penalties.
It's a difficult subject really...

| The only people responsible for "constant penalties" is players themselves.
I'd rather the refs practice zero tolerance and are consistant than try to interprit what rules they penalise and which ones they dont.
This isnt a gripe, because it was a fair penalty, but take Sculthorpe being penalised for holding the tackler down on Friday night, he hadnt slowed the game down any more than any number of tacklers that had held on, had a second push or anything, yet none of them got penalised, why?

if there was zero tolerance there would be a penalty pretty much every play

| No it wouldnt, and if it was the coaches would soon start to stamp it out and players would soon learn
Half a game it would take for players to get the message.
IIRC Tony Smith when he was coach of Hudds when we were in the NFP asked the ref for zero tollerance, the ref duly obliged and for the first 20 there was penalty after penalty for both sides.
Then the learned the lesson and played the game properly, to the rules...

The Penatly from sculthorpe was because we was trying to hold the man so he would get a penatly and was caught. Right Decision in my opinion. I dont know how you can complain about holding down you do it as much as anyone else.

| Can you read more than one post Phil? Or even a whole one?
Try it, you might understand what I was saying. Feel free to point out where I was complaining, maybe where it was just after I said "both sides" or "it was a fair penalty"?

Apperently not - I'd find a wall to bang your head against.
Your problem is that you're trying to put a rational argument together.

| For me it was an exact reversal of the Cas home game .... you had all the second half possesion but weren't good enough to convert the chances.
Sometimes games go that way ..... Cas did what they needed to do to stop our losing streak and it was up to Hudds to break us down... unfortunately for you and fortunately for us you had 'one of those days'
On the other note I agree I think zero tolerance is the right way for ref's to go ..... it would take a week or two for teams to completely clean up the play the ball area and increase the speed of the game. luckily for Hudds that won't be happening any time soon ( joke ... )

| i think what code13 is tryin to say is that yes sculthorpe was stupid and yes it was a penalty BUT other players from both sides had been holding down and tryin to con penalties and generally messing around but ganson chose to let them go but chose to penalise sculthorpe for it
i think im right in saying

| You are indeed right Meast.
As ever Ganson picks and chooses not only what he will penalise, but when he will penalise certain offences.
Both teams had players guilty of it all game, only Sculthorpe got pinged for it though. Yes it was a penalty.
Actually, we could get round, through and over Cas's defence, just not finish.
As someone esle said, how did Robbo blow a 3 on 1 break, all he had to do was pass the ball. Hell he could have not passed it and we would have done better.

I am sure it has been mentoned that it was the lack of options given to Robbo by the support players that caused the problem. Lolesi looked to come inside but then did not. Robbo was then left with two Giants players and the defence on his RHS in a very tight space. It was the fault of the support players as much as Robbo

Robbo went in, out, in, out - the only thing he didn't do was shake it all about. Lolesi's head must have been spinning, especially as he's just come back from seeing stars himself. I think Robbo was trying too hard to impress his Barmy Army. If it had been the in the second half he wouldn't have had the distraction.

Sorry, but rubbish.
Robbo had ample opportunity to pass to Jammer & Leroy well before he made the attempt. Indeed he should have passed at least 10m earlier & Leroy had a free run to the line.
But yes, I suppose he was in front of the 'Team Robbo' gang!
