minutes on the fiield is a poor thing to compare - you need to look at carrries per game and tackles per game etc. If a player is just stood around on the field doing nowt then how can you compare that to a player who only comes on for 20 minutes but is "worth" those minutes?

whatever...maybe its his fitness (fat belly) and discipline (red card) that lets him down on the minutes played side of things

Its not in this instance as Fat Savage starts most games. TMFMISL comes on as sub. For me, I think for their stats to be compared, we need the minutes played.

ill try again cause i know from experience that sometimes repetition helps with the low ability kids......
minutes played makes no difference if they are stood around doing nothing for most of those minutes!!!!
I could go on the field and play 80 minutes - but i would still be crapper than paleasina doing his two 7 minute stints.
and anyway i would imagine that both bailey and eorl play a similar amount of minutes anyway -
interestingly who makes more metres per carry eorl- against fresh defenders -or bailey against tireder men

So, if one of the players came on for a 5minute cameo, his stats would be dragged down when comparing them per game.

No because you can compare effort and outcome. Metres per carry, missed tackles per tackles made. Minutes played alone is meaningless unless you can compare what was achieved in those minutes.

I think we have our wires crossed. I wanted to compare the stats such as carries on a per minute played basis, not per game.
