best defence a month ago and now to this conceding bucket loads of points to wigan, catalans, salford and widnes

nearly won today but that would of just papered over the cracks and widnes deserved the win

faalogo and patrick were out best players today

eden and gilmour utter garbage, eden taken off at half time

murphy played full back, cudjoe loose forward then all change again in 2nd half lawrence to centre, moore loose etc

time to go back to basics as the new style of play not working anymore and confidence gone

I was watching Leeds get tonked by Wigan on Friday night and didnt feel that bad after our home defeat to them what 4 weeks ago. After today however another sign and a reason why this team won't win anything this season. I hate to say it but we won't and I said before the start of the season if don't win anything this time I dont think we will in my life time. I am 42. Another mid season slump, chopping and changing the team, players out on loan, 1 player coming in, losing to Widnes in the last minute. Settled, COMPOSED teams don't do that. Is the sports shrink still around?. Back to basics -! they can't even do that at the moment. Pathetic state of affairs but thats what supporting Fartown is like. Same old garbage in the Examiner this week and then they serve up that!. Maybe its best if Nathan went early.

Its was dire today - and it is down to attitude , and not ability - and afraid that sits at the managers door.

Having seen this scenario last season we KNOW Nathan cannot turn it around. I have been a real supporter of him in the past , but think gardening leave is now due and baloo in charge now - drastic times call for strong Board level decisions, and afraid I've switched my view, and Code 13 is spot in with his posts - unfortunately....

I really don't want to read the same NB platitudes in tomorrows Examiner - I'll feel more positive to read about his resignation.

But one thing we know is Brown lacks the ability to change tactics mid season - all he can do is shuffle players into unfamiliar positions that leads to more loss of form.

If Wire tonk us in the CC semi then I think NB should go for an early bath because if we don't win the Cup we haven't a cat in hell's chance of winning the league. Still no trophy.

So as we can't get relegated & would be highly unlikely to win anything, maybe Baloo should get the last few matches & whatever(if any) playoff games to get an early start on next year's prep with no pressure on him.

Driving back from today's shambles and reflecting on wasting about £ 70 and a few hours of my life I had the Car radio on BBC Manchester, their take was interesting, it could be paraphrased as "agreeing for NB to join Saints next season and letting the world know while keeping him as our coach this season was a recipe for disaster".

I don't like that, but its hard to argue.

Today was especially poor as not only did we not play well, neither did i think did widnes, they scored 3 tries from kicks that were missed by our defence, but what got me angry was the lack of desire,i said desire lost us that game today, the last 2 mins summed it up perfectly,widnes just wanted the win more than we did, they put their bodies on the line and we didnt,you cant blame the coach for that! However i do think its a difficult sitaution for nathan,he should be revered and rightly so by the fans for what he has done,but i cant help thinking he has gone as far as he can with us and is now thinking more about saints next year, which is a shame, the players hearts didnt seem in it, and it was the same last year

Mate you can see it with body language,we need to get back to basics play players in there positions. NB IMO is trying to make the game too technical for the players.

I take hkr have a bad record of losing on sky? Well not to worry we have mastered the art of choking when they come around. Seriously though should be a good game between two teams with points to prove. Us that we are not going to collapse as in previous years and you a sign of intent to the other sides above you!

Some comments on here are clearly from people who didn't go. Brough was sh*te -his kicking was sh*te, wrong option every time. Eorl was getting thrown round like a rag doll robbo did nowt and Gilmour a waste of space.
Absolutely no chance of quick line speed on that slippy I-pitch in the wet.
Eden was taken off after that nasty high shot -not because of performance.
Why we lost:-Wardle injured should have meant one simple change, murphy in at centre. Instead NB made four. Murphy at fullback, Eden on the wing where his offensive skills are wasted, leroy swapped to wing and Luke George at centre!!!! Fairbank should have gone in for brown, instead we had a total of at least three guys playing LF. So two changes were all that we're necessary we had 7?
when Eden came off Luke back to wing Bruno at centre and four guys who've been playing prop on the field. The defence was all over the place cause everyone couldn't remember what they were doing-this was evident when the players kept getting in each others way.
Thought our best players were Scott Moore and doof yesterday. Just as we started to play doof was taken off.

And on the subject of shaun Lunt- the rhinos fans are now starting to give him stick-he played two good games since then he's been poor for them.

Our team selection looked a lucky dip , pick a shirt no. out the bag and wear it , absolute joke, No plan B? , no plan A either .

Certainly George and Murphy looked like wingers who did not want to be infield when Hanbury went in for his try.

There were so many players playing out of position it was untrue and even when a winger cut loose it was Eden so he did not have the speed or awareness to go clear as George or Gilly may have done.

Jools - i agree with you, why we needed to make so many changes due to 2 men missing i'm baffled - i think we had about 20 positional changes during the game, it seemed everytime they scored we swapped about 3 or 4 people around and then the next time every time i looked someone had changed position.....WHY ?? is there some secret devastating tactic in doing that somewhere?.

One thing that i noticed a couple of times was the lack of dummy/line runners - 2nd half Grix was running acrosos their line and there were 3 huge holes in their defence and all it needed was someone to hit a half decent line at pace and go through one of them instead all 3 or 4 players who were on that left side literally stood still and Grix had no option but to take the tackle.....why did no one bother to make a run?

Our forward - why do they set off flat, jog to the line then stop when they get there ? at least 4 times yesterday this happened, we surrender to the opposition so easily like this - run onto the ball hit the line at pace and make yards, not one of them looked remotely interested in attempting this yesterday !!

brough and robinson shi*e?! admit brough should of made touch with the ball with 3mins to go and we would of won but to say those two were shi*e is abit harsh, they are the ones who were trying most.

eden went off because he was a liability on the wing and needed to change things.
