| Quote ="PONNER"The last part wasn't necessarly aimed at meast. I was quoting him for the 20 years part. We are all quick enough to boo the ref for inept performances, why should our players be any different?'"
Because RARELY does it do any good and more often than not demoralises people.
there are many ways to show your displeasure. Booing is probably the least costructive.
when things have gone bad that is the time players need your support. They do not need anyone to boo them when things have gone bad.
the problem yesterday was as much do do with the team selection and the coaching as anything else. I did not detect a lack of effort as 3 tries in the last 10 minutes showed. I detected , complacency, too many team changes, blooding youngsters, a poor game plan and execution. Be dissappointed yes but booing is ridiculous. We are 4th in the table and there have been plenty of upsets in the rounds so far.
The problem is some fans think we have the right to win every game or , ''EASY'' games. That may have been the atitiude of Leeds and Saints in the past but we are not in that bracket yet.
You have to earn the right to win a game. yesterday we did not.
If we beat Wigan in 3 weeks that does that make everything alright again.

You'd think so with the noise that comes from the stands when we have a bad ref such as Halibut.

...and on a less blinkered view they both represent our sport.

[uNot turning up at all is the least constructive IMO.[/u

[uFor me it wasn't a case of an EASY game. Any team can beat any team if they don't turn up with the correct attitude. Yesterday that was us.[/u

[uNo, yesterday was a game we should have at least competed in. If we play like we know we can then we should give Wigan a good game. [/u'"

Do all people boo the ref or don't they?
Your observation of the louder boos for the referee only serves to prove that there are numbers in the crowd who disagree with your opinion.... there is a difference between booing the referee and booing their team. No?

Are you saying that those who don't boo are actually blinkered? LOL!
You're booing the team 'in the name of rugby league'? LOL!

| No, I just won't defend our boys when they deserve a bashing. If the ref's good enough for a boo then so are our players. If people don't feel the need to boo then so be it.

| ponner, like anyone else who was there yesterday i was far from happy mate im just saying that we cant win every game and sometimes we have bad games or games where the opposition are just better than us, i just dont see what booing actually achieves, each to their own and all that i respect, but fans have to learn to take the rough with the smooth, under this coach we've had very few bad games,i just think to boo the team after a rare bad game is a bit out of hand, but thats just my opinion,if people feel the need to boo after every defeat then thats up to them it dont mean i have to like it.
anyway hopefully we'll be back to cheering on friday

| got to agree with you meast well said, i was as disappointed as anyone with the performance but booing has never been my answer, will moan about it with fellow fans but jeering the team is counter productive, if someone did that to me when i had a bad day at work it wouldnt encourage me to try harder in truth it would make me worse.

| When I have taken the time to go and watch the team away, I expect them to perform better than they did. Granted any team can have an off day, but the effort was not there, it was just like they could not be bothered.
It is the first time I have left a game early (12 minutes in fact ).
I have watched the game for 40 odd years and seen some thumpings, but that display took the biscuit, I don`t think I bood them off at half-time, but I agree with those that did.
