The best full back is the coach's opinion, he's the one who sees the players in training, he's the ones who knows their capabilities and limits, he's the one who sees their attitude, he's the one who sees who can organise and who can't. that's why Stone is the head coach and none of us lot are, as much as we all like to think we can do a better job.

I don't know why you guys are obsessing over Mamo.
Randell has played a lot more firstgrade, is a much better player, and should make a much bigger impact on your squad.
Mamo is a 21 year old who needs to work on his basic skills a lot before he is a decent fullback.
Right now he is a reasonable winger with potential to be a fullback if he keeps working on it.
Randell is a very good NRL standard hooker who can fill a lot of other positions if given a chance.

What's wrong with Wardle at left centre!!!!

We aren't obsessing over him so much as the media are saying its a done deal which is why he's being discussed more. Reasonable winger- hmmmm. Reasonable isn't what we should be aiming for. potential to be a fullback- we have a hatful of young players with the potential to be a fullback- Ryan brierley being one.
Our fullback had traditionally been our scapegoat ever since Paul Reilly left us. So Mamo sounds perfect

hinchcliffe, wood and leeming all hooking roles, none will win us trophies mind.

plus it sounds more likely mamo than randell will be coming and we can see why as we are losing two full backs at the end of this season with just a young simpson left , but we are also linked with gaskell who can play there too

he wants to play 2nd row but we have many options in that position

If Wardle does go my choice to replace him would be Roberts, get his pace up a tad and he would make a cracking big centre. Just an opinion.

doubt that he was playing prop against london, hes looking quality at the moment will only get better in the forwards

Still think Leeming can make it and Hinch at loose -(but obviously only my opinion )!

Frankly I dont think our squadf is bad at all --if we can gert them working together as a unit with players in the right combination.

Oh for the good old days when management and fans KNEW what the best player for the right position was instead of the experimentation / permutation process!!
Barring injuries or form loss there was consistency and a backup squad -coached to to the same pattern to cover......and then we DID win trophies mind!

Talk in Newcastle today is hat Stone wants to sign Jarrod Mullen as your Marquee signing.
Mullen is the best player in the Newcastle squad much better than Gidley, but has had a terrible run with injuries.

I wouldn't have a marquee signing for a player now prone to injuries.
I don't think Ken Davy or Richard Thewlis would have him as a marquee signing until proven.

He probably wants out as tinkerman wants to move him to hooker....

I'm hoping stone has told the Bradford lot that they are unlikely to feature in his future plans and they should look for something else with our blessing regardless of any paper signed....
