Disagree with that SG. I think Brown is better at stand off than centre. Certainly don't think Simpson would improve us by playing at 6.

Simpson's got to play 6 now though Dan,otherwise there is no role for him.Centre too small,full back too small.Don't see a role for him,bad signing,bigger lads ont wing.

why shift the team about to get him in? He isnt good enough, im sure he's a good guy and all that but he was bought as a winger/centre and has been found wanting. As someone said, why are we trying to fit him in now at the business end of the season? putting him to stand off just to get in the side, has he ever played there? Does not make sence.
Just because he is Australian does not mean he must get in the side.

Here we go. The lad doesn't get a pass, doesn't do anything wrong, and he's a waste of money!

He shot out of the line which gave them a try in the 2nd half. As i said in an earlier thread, why have a back on the bench, waste of a spot when we have cover in the team should the need arise. Any mistakes he makes are magnified due to the expectation put on him by bieng the new guy and Australian. Now is not the time to try and get him up to speed.

Well after watching Simpson for 7 out of the 8 games he"s pulled on the Claret and Gold. My opinion is this lad is not good enough to help the club progress to the next level. He"s had plenty of game time on the wing and failed to even look like scoring. He"s played in the centre and not looked threatening. He was rsponsible for Leeds"s try in the second half which took the game away from us. He came out of the line and did not have the pace to recover. He as been injured for the vast majority of his time at the club so over the last few months he as surely been working on his fitness and speed work.
I was baffled by his selection yesterday does Browny feel sory for him, should have gone with Raleigh on the bench. Then when Leroy got injured we could have kept Horne at centre and moved Lee Gilmour into the centre role. More importantly I would rather see a young English lad playing than Simpson.

If he wasn't an Aussie he wouldn't get a look in, no better than English players running around in the lower divisions.

nothing about this makes sense, are you on glue? why move our captain and someone who has been capped internationally as a stand off to centre so someone who has never played a professional game at stand off can take his place, if cudjoe doesnt play on friday either Gilmour or Lawrence can play centre as could Horne or Wardle and Kirmond, Raleigh or Fairbank can come in at 2nd row. Simpson has played about 20mins in the u20's at hooker, where do you get him playing at stand off from? or here is an idea, Simpson is a cenre if you want him in team play him at centre

i fail to see how people can blast a player who has played a handful of games and did not have a full preseason.
oh yes because they are giants supporters who obviously can do better and know better than the coach. brown is no mug and will have seen this guy play in NRL and will know what he can do. Perhaps now isnt the time to be making room for him i admit, but are people seriously suggesting that nathan would play someone who he thought was poorer than someone else he had available -on purpose??? honestly??? Simpson was one of the best players in our side at Salford. And everyone has clearly forgotton how well he played against Leeds at Headingly.
I suppose with hodgson going those who pick holes have to choose another scapegoat.

I know I'm in a huge minority here, but watching KB at stand off reminds me of that legend know by a few as Wally Gibson. His play at FB was outstanding. He seemed a natural shoe in for SO. He was, let's say, not very good. At FB he had time to see the various options open to him. An up-to-date example might be Sam Tompkins.

Kev is, or was, a superb centre. At SO - and remember this is only my opinion - he seems to lack vision.

Again, do not get me wrong, he is a superb player - playing in what is not his natural position.

Totally agree Ivor i said at the time when they put thorman at fullback brown would of been the better choice, not bagging brown btw i think he is quality, just think like tomkins at wigan with more time on the ball he could be an even better player, we'd miss his defensive work though if he ever did go to full back

I would have expected Wardle (if fit) and Horne to play centre this week, if not then Bruno or Gilmour would next in the pecking order for that position. Unfortunately Simpson showed on Sunday that he isn't up to speed yet (due to lack of game time) and putting him in a position which requires your defence to be at its best, against a Warrington side with an electric three-quarter line, is going to be suicide.

didnt horne play at centre last time we played at wire and was woeful, agreed last 2 games at centre he has been good, for me bruno and joe should be centres on friday, with dodgy and jerry on wing.

As I remember it the team was woeful at Warrington.

I despair at what some people see/don't see in players.

Re mr j Simpson.
I'll judge him when it's fair to judge him , which in my humble opinion is after a decent pre- season and a good few games next season. Judging him earlier than this sensationalism, unfair and premature.

And I've not been premature since the doctor gave me those tablets....
