| Brough played out of his skin last year and hardly missed a game, then add in the world cup to that he has hardly had a break. We will be the only club with 2 short turn arounds in april, we need to rest our key players. Especially with what we should be saying are games we should be winning against Salford, Wakefield, Tigers, London & Bradford before we have the run of Saints, Wigan, Leeds.
This is NO dig at Danny, he and Lunt for me are our best players. However, a week in the sun with the family might do him some good (other sports do it). Lunty was right on twitter nothing is won in April but keeping our players fit and getting their heads right for the second half of the season is key.
As for “Assuming we should win next 2 games is a bit arrogant” not sure that is arrogant but the team who finished top of the league in 2013 should be expected to beat the teams who finished 14,11,12,13 and 9th?
When we talk of confidence I hope that people aren’t going to jump on the Grix bandwagon again, thought he has had a solid start to the season. Apart from mistakes last night and probably letting everything over the last few weeks boiler over and he let his frustrations out.
p.s. you can delete this topic if you want, its only a discussion.

| I have never noticed Brough before with the blatant show and go where he openly displays the ball in the palm of his hand.Is this a new tactic?Who is it supposed to fool.Is it a lack of ideas from him or his team mates not giving him options? Not criticizing at all,Just wondering as a casual viewer.

| Brough has always been like that, but as a captain he's going to have to get that chip off his shoulder and learn to channel his aggression better, but at least it shows he cares I suppose.
The one man who stood out as been particularly poor for you was Grix. Through petulance he gave away a penalty when you had the ball which led to a try (could have easily got himself a card too). Then he took a big shot from Ellis and Westerman and wasn't interested after that. Hardly ran with the ball, just shovelled it on to a winger regardless of what position they were in. Then to cap it off he costs another try by being out enthused when Yeaman kicked through.

| Intetsted in the comments regarding bad language on the terrace and DB swearing at the ref. Difference between the 2 is DB is bound by the laws of the game that he is being paid to play, foul and abusive language is not permitted. Fair enough frustration enthusiasm gets the better of people, but as captain he needs to be able to show some level of control or he will be forced to sit at the side by the ref.

| Danny's not playing well at the moment and he's currently channelling that disappointment and anger at his own game in the wrong way. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it. As Captain he does need to look at this as he sets the example.
However, I think talk of dropping him is ridiculous - he's still one of our better performers each week even when far below his own standards - and talk of stripping him of the Captaincy far too little early. This is the same guy who led us to Top of the Table, won Man of Steel and performed brilliantly in the World Cup and then 7 or 8 games later he's suddenly not good enough to even get in the team. Absolutely ridiculous.

| PA just needs to take Danny to one side and explain that bad-mouthing the referee is not acceptable. This keeps him in the ref's eye and every little incident is picked up by the official. He's far too valuable to your team to not be on the pitch. Good luck for the rest of the season, we need Yorkshire teams to be dominating the competition.

| Danny's problem is the same as the other 16 players every week, the coaching staff and the supporters - a total lack of confidence !! last year we won games we were 2nd best in simply because of the confidence within the whole club, this year is different, we have started off badly and aren't playing well, things that the players did last year or even in pre-season are not coming off for them so they are frustrated.
When you have a player as talented as Brough is this will naturally affect his game as he is the leader, the one who makes us tick.
We need to win a match, once that happens the players will believe in themselves again.

From a Cas fan - Brough is a brilliant player when his forwards are on top. It gives him room to manouver and his kicking is second to none. Therein lies the problem, your forwards are not playing well. They are being out enthused, look like they have no real energy and are not making the hard yards. Overall they are not bullying the opposition as they have done previously. Brough more than most half backs needs to be playing behind a strong, dominant pack. If not, his petulant side comes to the fore as it did last night. Sort your forwards out and Brough will come good again.

That could easily have been posted by a Giants fan who has seen every game and until we at least give as good as we get in the forwards we are going nowhere fast.

| I think teams are taking Hudds more seriously after last season. Gone are the days where you play Hudds and you are guaranteed 2 points.
Also Brough is a good player. @ saints last season we were crying out for a 6/7 and if we would of signed Brough I would of been happy.
Your form will pick up over the course of the season. You deserved the win in the CC

| To me Craig Kopczak was a perfect example last night of the problems that Huddersfield face. I haven't seen such a weak performance from a prop for ages, ambled the ball in and ran with no aggression. If you compare the effort from him to Crabtree you can see massive difference. As a Wakey fan I am a massive fan of Brough as a player. His attitude sucks though but I think it's more about the efforts of some of those around him. Huddersfield need to look at last season like it never happened as at this point it is doing more damage than good.

| That's been Kopczak in most games this season, Crabtree has been far from great too but did seem a bit more interested yesterday.

I’m sorry but I can’t agree, they had it done and dusted but threw it all away. Brough is an excellent fair-weather player, but his big failing is he is a bit of a dummy spitter I’m afraid.

| Brough creates more chances than most in his position, yes he can get a bit heated, but this is mainly due to his desire for his team to play well, and at the moment, you only have about 3 players turning out for you.
You will come good again, but each time you turn out against a team they are playing you like a top 5 side, not a top 10. You need one win, a convincing one, and from that your luck will change.
You have a great side with a lot of great young players, and unfortunately a lot of your senior players are still reeling from last week.

| Dropping brough would be daft! He is a quality player who wears his heart on his sleeve! He is struggling to hide his emotions but a more concerted effort from him to use his frustrations constructively 'making the opposition pay with his skills' rather than Gobbing off is fair but to drop him would IMO just make it worse

| Danny Brough is a heart-on-sleeve type of player. He can be unpredictable, which is very often what gives him an edge. The other side of that coin is that sometimes it can make him a bit of a liability. That's what he offers and you're not going to change him. From an outsider perspective I find him hard to like and easy to admire (I talk on-field personas here, I have no idea what he's like off a rugby pitch). He brings you far more positives than negatives. That's why he's man of steel. No halfback will play well when their pack's on the back foot. Fix that and you'll probably find that your enigmatic playmaker has less to get frustrated about.
Grix's incident may not have been "unprovoked" in the strictest sense, but it wasn't provoked by anything that a professional RL player shouldn't have been able to brush off. Madness.
He is someone who looks a very good player some days, but seems to look ordinary too often and absolutely awful on enough occasions when I've seen him to be good enough for a team with Huddersfield's standing at the moment, and your realistic ambitions.

i actually thought it was one of koppy's better games this season
he's been very poor so far in my opinion and needs to step it up to the levels he showed last year.

| I think its Grix who has let you down big time.
When I watched you play in the past he has played big parts in you attacking and once the Ellis incident had happened he didn't want to know. Every time he got the ball he couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Brough has always let his emotions and passions get in the way, but the last thing you want to be doing is dropping a player with that passion and will to win. Your not that far off, one decent win and the rest will follow. Probably too late to finish top again but Top 4 still a more then likely reality.
