| Hudds did have the opportunity to score a few which they bummed but howmany did Gelling fluff for Wigan. Both sides werent as clincal as the could have been and had we had Pat in the team i think those scores would have been converted as well as the conversions. The score could have looked very one sided which would not have been a fair reflection of the game as Hudds looked strong for two thirds of the game.

| The first half was a cracker and it seemed like anyone game. However Huddersfield then seemed to fall away on the 50 mins mark and completely lost their way. For me Huddersfield still havent learned how to slug it out against the big teams. If you factor in Pat Richards playing, and a probable 2 extra tries that we would have got, and our dreadful kicking we could have easily won by a lot more in the end.

| And IF (which is a big word) we had taken our chances we could have maybe won
Nowhere near our best last night and we couldn't produce the flair we've shown this season due to the weather but the game changer was Eden's dropped ball after his try. Add to that we just didn't get the bounce of the ball last night ie Giants chip over and the ball doesn't bounce up for Eden. Wigan kick a long ball that looks to be going out yet then decides to turn a corner and stays in forcing us to knock it out. Nothing went our way, we had too many player not at the top of their game last night and the best team won. On a drier day with the odd bounce of the ball we could have inflicted the same scoreline on Wigan. It was one game, no trophies won from it.

| You're not far off. I would say that you are the best side we have faced this season. Perhaps it is just a mental thing now. The first game of the season wasn't a big game, but last night was a real chance to show that you mean business for the rest of the season.
I thought both sides played some quality rugby for the 1st 55 mins or so, espicially in the conditions. and then the Carmont try changed the game, and we stepped up a gear and pulled away. If we play as well next week Saints will get a good hiding.

| we wasnt good enough lastnight, at times it was men against boys, they wanted it more than us and we looked beaten early doors
did well to stay in the game as long as we did with wigan missing the kicks at goal, we got back to drawing then threw it away with stupid mistakes
faiumu, patrick and mcgillvary getting injured didnt help with the interchanges
grix was awful, was again shown up with his shocking defending and seems to get the ball then the attack breaks down and gets tackled...cant fault the effort of the lad though
oh well roll on next week, got shown up lastnight though...especially in the forwards and on the wings but losing wardle was a big blow too

| Disappointed that we couldn't compete with them for 80 minutes, 1st half was proper rugby then like has been said , once Eden dropped that ball it was one way traffic - we tried but they were faster stronger and fitter than us in the end.

As a Wigan fan I think you're overrating the Warriors a tad. That was a difficult match.

| Gerry's injury and Carmonts try turned the game, but we missed chances, kicked too early and had too light a bench
All in all Brown got the tactics wrong IMO

| not too downhearted really, wigan were by far the better team, that good and disciplined in fact that they didnt concede one penalty in the 2nd half, despite the numerous infringements, but they took their chances that were presented to them by penalties, our mistakes, poor defending.
there wasn't much in it for the first 55 minutes, the eden's error seemed to deflate us and we never got back on track after that.
but they looked hungrier for the win and were certainly faster and stronger than us and defended very well

to be fair we did try last night but some complaints about people standing up and over zealous stewarding meant that the usual people who get the chants going were reluctant to in fear of been thrown out
wigan fans are very vocal yes, but very monotonous and are like a cherry and white version of celtic supporters, rip off merchants if you ask me

I wasn't in fear of being thrown out. I was indifferent either way but the hypocrosy of the club staff is annoying. It appears it's mob rule and not the first time, with a fantastic visual and vocal support from the Wigan supporters. Sheer weight of numbers meant the Wigan fans could stand all through the game and move to the front of the stand near full time to 'bounce' etc.
20 Giants fans stood at the back are threatened with eviction unless they sit down, my pet hate unfortunately.
It used to annoy the hell out of me that Hull FC could stand all night in the John Smiths stand, our stand, whom we were advised to hand over to them, all the game. Then we have to sit down the week after.
Standing wasn't a problem last week against London so why was last night? It didn't appear to be a problem for 15000 Town supporters last week in the play offs either.
And some people complain the atmosphere is poor at the 'Library'. No S**t Sherlock.

| to be fair i thought our fans created a good atmosphere - then Wigan scored and they sat down and zipped their mouths till it was time for them to leave (69-72 mins was the time of the mass exodus this week!!).

| A lot of 'if we took our chance' from Huddersfield on this topic. What if Wigan took theirs and kicked the 5 goals they missed?????
Simple fact is that Wigans go forward was far better than Huddersfield. Too many yards made up the middle set the platform for the backs to exploit their week defence.
Huddersfield are not that far away from the top teams. Its just an 80 min game.

Yep Wigan could have completed more moves, but that wouldn't have changed the results
Had we converted the opportunities then the result could of been different, hence a interesting topic to discuss

To be honest if we start bleating about chances we wasted it masks the fact defensivly we were very poor in the second half and that was where the game was lost.
The result may have read different but in truth one team was better than the other by a fair margin and if we want to win things or get to finals we have to get up to that level on a regular basis.

| Actually one team was better in the last half hour after the other team had been crippled by injuries to the interchanges and as a consequence left very weakened and fatigued

| Losing players to injury didnt help our cause and no one will ever know now if those players being on the field would have plugged the gaps that Wigan walked through in our defence.

| I think the gaps were there because of the injuries though, as soon as Gerry went off they spent 10 minutes throwing everything they had down that side and our defence numbered up badly

I agree think if Jerry had stayed we might have had a chance.
However, the missed conversions should really have sealed the game for the warriors.
Hopefully, we will learn from this and wake up for Salford - Or is this are annual mid year blip coming back to haunt us???????

| I am sorry guys and galls we are not going to beat teams like Wigan if we play 2 centres and a standoff in the back row,you have got to fight fire with fire and to add insult to injury we play are strike backrower as a centre,Browny knows beter than me but i think he got it wrong for this game LOD and Mase should have played in this game with Doofy, i bet the Wigan boys where snigering when they saw that those 2 wernt playing. We may get away with and have against the so called lesser teams,we need to be playing with our best forwards week in week out.

What possible benefit would there be in playing LOD when he is injured. You are in the know, so know he is out for a few weeks.
Why are you calling for NB to play an injured player?
