| Quote ="Sheepridge Giant"Rugby League, one week you are up,next week you are down, that is unless you are Leeds Rhinos who are sunk without a trace with no hope of a draw never mind a win.
Has Hetherington still got the energy left to steal Paul Anderson off us.
Then he could walk up to the south stand for the adulation, having forgot all about his Sheffield walk out.
Oh and bye the way looking for big revenge over the Vikings.Looked very impressive at ours this time, deserved winners.'"
Yes I like Widnes as a club, They have never been a big club but they have certainly had their days in the past. It's good to see them coming back, and playing well in the first half of the season, They deserved their win over us but we are a different team this last month, I expect us to be too good for them at the moment, we must be brimming with confidence.
Grass or artificial pitch I think we can expect to go very well in this.

| Huge game - wish I was going and nearly bought tickets earlier in the week before the missus reminded we were off to London
We definitely have the momentum to win the game that's for sure. Our form and confidence have to be high and hopefully winning in Newcastle gets us more confidence to come out of none-Giants changing rooms and win finally! The challenge will be whether the return of Kev Brown can immediately improve their creativeness and step up their overall performances. He'll be up for it playing against his most recent club as always but I think we're in a much better position to handle him than earlier in the year.
If Broughy can keep up his enthusiasm (he's up for it) then his kicking game is unstoppable (both defensive and attacking) and the rest of the side will take care of itself.
Like everyone before has said - this is the make or break for me in terms of reaching the top 8 as in if we lose I think we're done for. We've also got the Salford tribunal situation which would also snuff our chances I suspect if they get the 6pts back so even winning guarantees us nothing... but lose and we're done.
I'm feeling confident of a win though for once to keep the form going.

Let's hope it's 9 on the trot, no doubt if you win Betts will blame the referee.

yeh seen salford are appealing the 6 point deduction. the rfl may turn round and deduct them 20 if they lose! not that it would make much difference.
kev brown a big boost for widnes and got a game under his belt at newcastle so will be better but so will ellis

| A lot of what may or may not happen regards the super 8 depends on those around us.
Catalan vs Salford
Wire vs Leeds
Salford vs wakey
Recent form and where the two points are likely to go are rather favourable to us and wire, wakey and Catalan victories would have us
In 9th, 2 behind Widnes, 1 above hkr, 2 above Salford and 4 off Leeds and the wooden spoon! If we can beat Widnes over at their spot!
Although this is super league and owt can and will happen! But the above would be a brilliant weekend for us #coyg!

| Also noticed Millward strongly fancied Widnes to get the win (+6) Suppose they are due one. They looked very good at ours, better than Wigan who visited previous to them.
Ikahihifo will be on the receiving attend of some strong defence I feel ,always seems to be the way when the a new overseas forward makes a good early impression.

Good- use him as the dummy runner and give it taai instead!
With Salford winning there's even more pressure on us to get the two points tomorrow.

them winning at our place is a long time ago now! when injuries hit it was always going to stop their momentum
the biggest thing is them playing at home and having kev brown back!
they also have a new overseas player making a debut tomorrow, hope he doesnt go as well as ikahihifo did

Likewise we need to get stuck into this Aussie prop Buchanan, who it looks like will be making his debut.
PS have we ever had this ref before C Kendall?

Chris kendall- appointed FT ref last summer- ex giants academy player. I reckon he Won't want to appear to be favouring his ex club so could be harsh.

| That was the dumbest most disinterested rugby we've played since Cas.
Was also the flattest support we've had for a long time.

Don't start knocking the fans the only reason it went flat was the stupid Rugby we couldn't believe we were seeing.
It all started with gifting them four points just before half time and went down hill from there.
Play like that on Friday and we will be in trouble Cas won't blow as many chances as Widnes did !!

Throwing away a 16-0 lead with letting them get one just bfore half time makes you wonder if there werent a few more sat with him!!
After last weeks effort when they built on their lead and put it to bed --ALL THROWN AWAY!

| that was awful from the giants today, to throw away a 16-0 lead is criminal!
daft rugby.
widnes certainly deserved the win today, they wanted it more and how many errors did they make?! good job they did otherwise it would have been a cricket score.
we did too much defending in the first half and that killed us in the 2nd half as we didnt have any energy.
brough may be injured now too as he went off near the end, brierley back for me next week, at full back if brough is ok
also wardle...what has happened to him!
ikahihfo looked good again

Wardle looks fatigued. Week after week Playing 80 minutes in the second row running at the big guys, making 30 odd tackles against the big guys is a lot different to 80 mins at centre.
Ikahihifo looked good - but some of those offload attempts were pushing too far.
