| Quote ="COCKNEY GIANT"Just got home and we should of won this match.
Saints scored some soft trys in 1st half ie B.Hodgsons ball steal and Mason/Grffin under sticks. Poor, very poor.
The worse thing for us was HT as we just equalized 16-16 and we just looked like scoring at every run. Loosing Eorl early in game was a blow, along with Falagoooooo in 2nd half.
Ref made some poor decisions tonight with what look like a perfect 2nd half try by Lawrence?
As for Jerry incident I did not see it but people said it was a bad high tackle and was down for a good 5 mins but managed to walk off pitch and btw he played well tonight and should IMO have scored a try in corner.
Well done to the usual supporter who made it over who out song the Saints fans yet again. This is a dire ground for atmospere and I'm glad this is the last time we have to visit the saints!

It's actually pretty damned good when the opposition have more than a handful of fans .... The atmophere at proper Rugby grounds like KR and Warrington are far superior to those in half empty football stadiums like the Galpharm and the DW

As stated above, if you actually bothered to turn up with a few numbers the atmosphere would have been a lot better for you I am sure!!
I have lost my voice after all of the noise we made and the atmosphere was spot on where I was stood. My little girl had her fingers in her ears for half of the match because it was too noisy for her!
Must have just been your side that was quiet! (I did think the fans you did bring made some good noise though so they should be proud!)

thats a laugh a dire ground for atmospere coming from someone who supports huddersfield.
being at the galpharm is like sitting in a graveyard compared to our ancient ground.
like a poster said earlier when warrington or wigan visit us there's no better atmospere.
and as for out singing us..well ala's me owld mate that dont win you matches im afraid......(ps....well done to to the usual SUPPORTER you quote) not bad just one supporter outsinging the saints speccies..

It wouldn't have come up had one of your posters not referred to there being no atmosphere at Knowsley Road and being critical of Saints fans. Atmosphere requires fans of both sides to be there. We were very vocal given that to a person Saints fans couldn't see past a loss last night and we supported our guys when it most mattered, giving plenty of verbal to the ref, as is our duty.

Was at work last night and listened to the commentary on BBC Radio Leeds, James Deyton the commentator said that he had counted 63 Hudds fans behind the sticks, a bit shabby really for the good rugby being served up by the team.

| JD on radio leeds is obviously a poo stirring tool then, for a start we had 2 coaches which is more or less a hundred and plenty more made their own way over, our support once again was poor at knowsley road i reckoned 2-300 maximum however the saints fans were very quiet once again and only made any noise when the team was under pressure or a decision went against them,of which there wasn't many of them.
anyway onto the game, last night we were our own worst enemies again, too many dropped balls, too many missed tackles, too many daft penalties, too many wrong options.i dont think we played that badly we just came up with errors and slack defence at the wrong times, our defence on our own line came up short too many times and saints have the players to make you pay for it.
saying that though we showed great character to come back from 16-4 down then 22-16 down and had we not had injuries to key players and had 2 tries disallowed one which looked fine the other slightly dodgy then we could have been celebrating our only win a knowsley road in my lifetime.
i would also like to see meli's "tackle" on mcgilvaray again as it looked very poor indeed

Are you aware that Saints had 3 players on International duty and were without Soliola, Fa'asavalu and Wilkin who are first choice players, plus 2 players who would have come in for them were injured then Wheeler went off injured in the 1st half?
The players on our bench last night have a total of 21 first team games between them. One was making his debut.
We have used 29 players this season.

| Hard game I thought last night.
Thought Saints kids stood up well as both teams were missing key personnel.
Nothing in the Meli tackle from the live viewing for me, willing to retract if proved wrong though.

In your previous post you made the excuse that had you not had injuries to key players, you would have won the match. That was countered with our own injury/absentee list, which is at least as impressive as your own. So in other words, injuries can't be used as an excuse for your loss. If anything, what you had on the park should have mullered us because our stand-ins were young enough to have little meat on their bones and your lot are huge. However, I'm thankful that you weren't on top form because had you been, it is likely we would have seen that mullering that all our fans were anticipating.
Incidentally, vocally supporting the team when they were in most need of support is exactly what fans are supposed to do. We made plenty of noise last night. Stop criticising us, we'll stop pointing out your poor away support.
As for the Meli tackle: the RFL will sort it. All I saw was one of your players go down as I was standing at the other end of the pitch so I can't comment on the tackle. But if Meli did commit a high tackle, he'll be punished for it in due course. I hope your player is ok. He took a long time getting up.

He was referring to injuries to players during the game, not availability of players for the 17. Bit of a difference losing 3 players during the game as opposed to having a few players unavailable for selection.

| Stood near the Meli Tackle last night, started off with a shoulder charge to the chest/shoulder area and ended up as a "big hit", there was no initial impact to the head, your man just got knocked out.
Can,t understand why the touch judge came on to be honest, it was a "ball and all tackle" small bloke against big bloke.

Seriously? You think that the officials should play on whilst a player is knocked out?

| For me Friday showed one of two things.
Either
1 Brett Hodgson is past it and Warrington have made a massive mistake in signing him.
or
2 He isn't trying very hard or is injured yet again.
I would go with one. Hodgson to blame for at least two tries and the ball steal was a disgraceful error. I just don't think he is up to a game every week any more.

I think the point he was trying to make was why the touch judge interfered and told the ref to give a penalty (FWIW The ref had a great view and didnt react at all untill he saw the man stay down). Stopping the game for a serious head injury is of course a given.

| I think you short be dissapointed. Saints were there for the taking.
We've got more than a few injuries and add to that we didn't have Graham - whom we have relied too much on, Roby - who's our top tackler and Eastmond - who's our biggest threat and only decent kicking game.
We had a very young side out and once wheeler got injured Flannery moved out to the centre meaning we were even lighter in the pack. You were unlucky to lose Crabtree so early into his stint, he may have made the difference. Mason was pretty good, but I though Griffin was fairly inaffective. Your number 23 did quite well though, who's that? Is he new?
What you had over us was a smarter kicking game, a little more imagination with your passing and a better wrestle when you were in defence (you 2nd marker was set a lot better than our throught).
We had Tony P, who you couldn't deal with. Clough as well worked brilliantly. They (along with the forwards) kept us in it and then all of a sudden we got the momentum going on about 70 mins.
The Meli tackle - I was on the pop side, so couldn't really see it. I remember that I did kind of feel the ref concluded "he's hurt - it must have been illegal", but I'm happy to be proved wrong. I thought he was a generally a bit whistle happy throughout.

| Looking forward to next week now. Should be a cracker. If you've got a few knocks I fancy us to take it. The way our forwards have played lately the last thing you want is an inexperienced pack. Our games have been brutal at times.

| My only quibble with Thaler was that he called 'held' a little early for Griff's 'try'. Neither Griff nor his tacklers were stationery until the big man grounded the ball.
