I was reading the 'In 4 years' thread on your forum and had a look to see if I could find a report for that game.

The conditions ruined that game. Rovers won the toss IIRC, and chose not to take to wind in the 1st half. Cost them dearly. However, we were truly shocking in 2002 under Wilkinson, and the green shoots didn't start to appear until half way through 2003 when Steve Linnane began to instill some spirit in the team.

Did you go unbeaten in the league campaign that year? I remember the Buddies tonking, another rain-soaked day in Fev.

I remember a night match at home against Hudds that year with a close score(I think we lost 8-0)

You sure? The Buddies was the final on a damp Sunday afternoon at the end of May. Don't recall a night game that season, perhaps you are thinking of an earlier meeting (97?)

Remember the Buddies Cup Final win at Fev.

Some HKR fans took some seats they had no tickets for near us and resisted moving for ages. They told the old people who had their tickets to go somewhere else. Before they eventually moved they did make strange grunting noises when Stanley Gene appeared and shouted 'throw him a banana'.

It was a different group who jeered Stanley when he was - stupidly - sent off and threw tea / coffee over him.

I am confident that Giants fans will not treat him that way tomorrow.

i can still picture the 200 Hull Kr fans on the pitch at the end running over to the mass ranks of Giants fans and challenging us ! if we weren't too busy celebrating our cup win we would have laughed at them !

Fev 12-12 if I remember.

Sure Rocky Turner said it was a hot drink but I may be wrong. Poor do either way.

It was definately Whitehaven who held us to a 12-12. We then put 80 past them at home.
The game at Fev was close but we did sneak a win.

As for the drink throwing incident it was defiantly tea. I was very close to the idiot who threw it. Funny how quickly he retreated when Darren Turner asked him to come down to the fron of the stand

Whitehaven was the only team that season to take a point off us.

Your team that year was excellent. Me and my dad had a discussion the other day about our promotion winning side and whether they were the best team that division has seen since Super League began. The only other team we could think of was Huddersfield.

Huddersfield 2002 vs Hull KR 2006 would definitely be an interesting game!
