I am not upset to see him go as I have never seen what others on here rave about for him. But with different coaching and the chance to develop in one position. He may develop into a decent player.
I wish him all the best though and hope he makes it and has a good solid career except against us.

| I really Like Connor, shown himself to be a talented utility player and with a settled position could develop into a real star. Has a temper which can lead to penalties, makes the odd daft mistake- but is young and has plenty of "growing time". Works hard and tries hard. I think this one will come back to bite us.
More bad news in a bad news week.

| Heard this was going through a few weeks ago but hoped the deal could now be scuppered. PA hates Jake with a passion as he will not do as he is told, either in training or on the pitch. Hoped a new coach would be able to man manage him correctly because there's no doubt he is a talent.

| Not the only player Anderson could not manage.
I heard that his approach to coaching and man management was to just shout at the players.
That is why I felt he lost the dressing room and said he should go.
I would argue that lots of modern coaching is less about the game and more about dealing with te players to get the best out of them

| Jury's out for me didn't particulary want him to go but also there's a lot of other players I'd be more disappointed to lose.
Explains why we are after Gaskell though. Also explains Ormsby with Murphy to centre as one option be interesting to see who we replace Joe Wardle with.
On the subject of signings was impressed with Tom Symonds last night made really good metres too.
Get Derek, Hinchy and Huby back and if we can pull for a shock and beat Wakefield on Thursday then we could go well in the semi's with a full strength 17.
Not a criticism but when we had Eorl, Sam and Tom on we looked a much improved go forward side with Seb, Craig and Hinchy back we would be more consistent.
The young lads rotated at this stage of the careers would take the strain off them and make it easier to perform at this level and rotate the squad to keep it fresh.

| I'm devastated if this is true. The most naturally gifted young player I recall seeing coming through our academy, we have messed him about and not given him a chance to stake a claim for one position.
For me he is a half back, and will be better than any half we have other than Brough if he gets chance for a continued run. Doesn't have much pace, but has enthusiasm, mongrel and skill and for me will be pushing internationally in 4/5 years time if he gets settled.

Kind of disappointed but there's also inconsistent performancs but we all know how good he can be. Zilch pace in my book but great skills at times. It's funny how more things cone out when someone leaves, drip by drip. We need to get someone in whose got more than a couple of ideas. If we can keep the rest of the squad we now have a competitive pack, just a back or two short of a very good side if coached well.

| Very disappointed if i'm honest, i like Jake, he has a lot of talent and a fair bit of agression too, does give away needless penalties though, but i guess everyone does.
bit starnge as during pre season it was said that Connor was a massive part of the clubs' plans for the future and that he was a future international player.
He can play a number of positions but not really excellent in any particular one.
Good luck Jake, shame he is going really.

Some people were saying this for weeks about the things going on.
Some did not want to listen saying , " get behind the club be LOYAL"
They are the ones who by sticking their heads in their hands are as responsible for things getting like this.
I wonder what one poster who does not post on here now has to say that his golden boy has gone and that Anderson was a big part of the reason
Alas we will probably never know.
Still it is the Giants who let him go by not managing him properly.
( I now wait for jools to say we did not let him go he was not a prisoner)

Who would you have preferred to keep Anderson or Connor ?

| Neither pleased or displeased to be honest. He is a player with talent, who like others, got messed about and never had a chance to stake a claim for a permanent spot, Who knows if he would have done, he was as people have said short of pace, and for me pace of the mark is the first essential for a half, ( so he would never have played there for me ) MO only and I wish him well.

| I was always slightly disappointed with Connor - he obviously had bags of talent, but I think he needs that little bit of humility that young players sometimes need.
In my opinion, for a young lad, his lack of pace and stamina is surprising. And when people say he's a good utility player, it normally means that there's better players in all of the positions he can play.
Good luck to him, but I won't live in fear when I see his name on the opposition team sheet

| this will I think come back to haunt us. A young homegrown player with the potential to develop into a top class back. I'd rather have him than Murphy, as I think he is not just a better player but has the potential to be much better.

| Not happy with this news for a number of reasons.
He's young.
He can cover a lot of positions.
He's fearless
He's homegrown so will have been discounted on our salary. (I think)
However, if we was still top four this season would he be leaving? Not sure keeping somebody on who has gone through our acamedy and been apart of our rise would abandom ship when the going gets tough is a good idea.
We've clearly had a lot of problems behind the scenes this season. I hope the departure of Anderson can sort this out and people will just enjoy playing for the Giants b

| Took his try well on Friday night but hadn't improved as expected this year in my opinion and maybe the thoughts are we have better prospects in the academy coming through and Jake would have asked for a bigger chunk of salary as an established player.'
His attitude at times when he 'loses' it doesn't help good luck to him but he can be replaced.

Hes our second highest try scorer this season and third highest for try assists.
He's also second highest for missed tackles and top for errors and penalties.
He's not the paciest but he's no slouch- probably quicker than Ellis!
If he continued to learn to cut out the errors and penalties and works on his tackling, we could well be rueing Jake going.
On the opposite side we have Sam Wood knocking on the door- he's played a bit in the back row and can also play in the halves, can kick a bit too. He's a very determined young man- but has more humility than Jake. Let's hope we offer him another deal and he starts to make his mark-

| We've seen some good things from Jake, and some not quite so good.Obviously got time on his side, but if a player wants to move on for whatever reason,no point getting in their way.
One thing I will miss is his feisty attitude. Not frightened by reputations.

| Did we let him go, or was it the player decided he wanted to change?
For me he will be a big miss, yes he gives away too many penalties, so does Brough, it's the very thing that makes him a winner, take too much of that away and hes half the player he could be.

| I think people forget how young Jake still is, very early 20s but seems to have been around forever, and we expect him to be the finished article. The truth is he hasn't had the chance. He has a great winning mentality and he will take a risk.
To me he was Broughs long term replacement, I hope this is the last of our young talent to leave.

| I agree with the first part of your post-
But I think he was given s chance and has played most games this season and many last- this season he's been called upon in many different guises due to our injury problems. I'm not so sure that Connor was seen as a half back long term - he hadn't even been playing half back towards the end of his academy days.
Farrell I think is pencilled in there. - lets hope we keep him!

The new coach whoever he turns out to be, may see Brierley as the perfect partner for Brough, He has the pace and an eye for the gap, Not all coaches will have PA's approach to coaching and it's time we had some pace at half, I hope we make more use of Brierleys obvious try scoring abilities.

Couldnt make newcastle trip so watching on Sky - and if not wrong ( I may be Jools) thought one of the pundits said Sam HAD been given a contract which pleased me -with your contacts could be worth checking Pleased if its corrrect but as it seems to have slipped through the net on here I might be mistaken!
