I think we need grix just because if wigan (mcilorum) do a saints (walmsley) then we wont have any cover. smurph on wing for me broughton cant catch a cold.

There is no disguising that this is a massive blow to our chances and makes Wigan even firmer favourites but if you want to win things you need to overcome setbacks like this. Unfortunately, I do think we'll struggle to get a result without him - as any club would in such a big game without their key playmaker.

What it does do is give Connor another chance to impress (he has to stay in the halves) and for the rest to really stand up be counted. For me the line up depends on how fit Grix is - any doubts and the back line should stay the same. But if Grix is 100% fit, I'd put him at full back and Murphy to replace Broughton.

Grix's groin is a bigger risk than what Micky Mac might do. Broughton missed a pass that wasn't all that great but ran the ball back well n Friday scored two good tries the week before.

He can also catch Charnley if there's a break on.

Smurph would be full back on form for me and Connor kept at stand off this is not a pot at Scott Grix but to me you don't risk a recurring injury in a big game like this. His groin has gone 3/4 times since last year and he's not going to be up to speed for me.

However it's PA's call so we will see what he does !!!

Obviously a fully fit, fully recovered Scott Grix is a great asset to us anything less than that is just silly as we have 2 perfectly good full-backs to take his place, as they have done excellently so far..it is a difficult one but it could backfire if like FS61 says his injury flares up again...better to leave him out than risk him ?? i'd probably say yes.

Would take Broughton out for Grix and put Murphy on the Wing with Grixy as FB

i have seen an improvement in broughton the last 3 weeks, he is doing alot better than before... but if it was a choice between him and murphy it has to be murphy for me... no way does murphy deserve to be left out on his performances.

Are you suggesting the my opinion of Broughton is based solely on him dropping a very difficult catch on Friday? I believe both Grix and Murphy are better and more experiecned with our team and that's why they get my pick over him!

Is Mullally injured? Surprised to see Johnson in ahead of him. I think Johnson has been solid but I've been really impressed with Mullally. He's made a real difference on several occasions both giving us momentum as a starter and making a real impact off the bench.

Grix and Crabtree to come straight in. Grix comes into the line times better than Murphy or Connor at fullback. His experience is valuable. IF we lost he won't be coming in the week after shaking off the cobwebs.

I'm going to be shot down for this but Murphy to be taken out for this game even if only for one week. The lad put everything into the last game and I just feel Broughton has that speed and killing edge that Murphy doesn't have. He's improved a lot too. Any mess ups and Murphy comes back in.

JJ had a really good game against Saints, especially his first stint, he is very good defensively. AM is better at hitting up, but JJ seems more controlled, by that I mean less likely to do something daft, JJ is also the better defender imo.

I also thought Koppy had his best game of the season against Saints,he and JJ did a lot of graft which allowed Kaufusi to do some of his eye catching carries and hits.

I actually think the future looks very good for us at prop, Huby coming in too!

Madness! Wouldn't have Grix straight back in, not after such a lay off he's had. The players in the team at the mo are battle hardened. Plus Murph was awesome at FB last week, I'd even say he's wasted on the wing after that display and the ones at centre. Connor to stay at SO, Cudjoe can cover there too, he stepped in nicely last week on a couple of occasions at first and second receiver. Theres Bailey too and no probs if Robinson is ok. Although Mullally has been going well but Johnson went up a notch or two last week as well, thats a toughy if both fit.

We seem to have healthy competition for most positions at the business end of the season. All season I've doubted our ability to do anything (compared to last year), but the last couple of games have given me a bit more hope, couple with the weakness' of other teams. Have we sneaked up on the outside and timed this right? hmmmm...

Muprhy has everything BUT speed and in my opinion is a lot better all round player than Broughton, wouldn't want to be a coach with these kinds of selection problems.

murphy did everything a full back should do last week he was there in support if there was an off load ,ran the ball back very well ,didn't drop a catch,organised the deference and what a tackle

While I would have no concerns about Murphy being at full back I think you need to be careful not to get carried away with his performance against Saints. At the end of the day they had 12 men for the majority of the game, their kicking game was non-existent at best and we spent long spells in their half with our defensive line not being under pressure. The Wigan game will be entirely different.

Yes I agree, re him and kaufusi I can only think that their attitude off the field hasn't been hard working enough for anderson.

Connor at full back for me, he puts 100% in every time. He can kick, catch and tackle all with a bit of speed. Just what we need on our last line.

Tough choice between Murph and Jodie....but for this game, Jodie as we have Charnley to watch out for and Jodie has the speed to catch him.
