was hoping to get a few work mates along and make a day of it on the train, and and another colleague's wedding do on the night, doubt any of them will want to come on a thursday night now.

is it any wonder we can't get more fans to come to games

This is the main problem with RL Sky calls all the shots and B*****cks to us spectators,I will have to think long and hard before I renew my ticket for next season.

Anyone know How Sky apportion the money for a televised match.

sky pay 1,2 million a year to all clubs bar Bradford next year super league clubs will get around 1.8 million
sky don't pay per game. so with the increase from sky all supper league teams should be near the full cap and run at a profit (50% of income to a max of 1.7 or so )

Does anyone know when / if we can expect any feedback from the club about the consultation in respect of moving home games to Friday nights?

It's the 4th! Which is even worse! Two Hulls, Leeds and now Wire!

Just worked it out, at the end of the regular season we will have accumulated 421.6 miles on a Thursday night! And no doubt we will get more in the playoffs!

Consultation was probably a bit of a strong word but there was an online survey on the website that closed a few weeks ago about moving games to a Friday.

cant please everyone, going to upset a few whichever way they go, might please a few changing to fridays... the better supported clubs tend to go for friday nights..no wonder we are looking into changing

But they have already got the support, and will pick up more even if they lose some.....we haven't and probably won't !

It's a bit late to comment now that the consultation has ended. I would presume we'll hear the results soon.

who knows... may attract new ones... sticking to the sundays clearly not doing much for the attendances, becoming rare we play sundays anyway now with sky!

The club is on a hiding to nothing in respect of this.

Fans are not going to buy season tickets for Sundays because hardly any games are played on sundays.

They may as well move to Friday nights and try to change their marketing strategy.

Otherwise they stick with sundays and just watch the fans drift away.

I did not get a ST this year because games are now played on 5 different days. I will not get a ST again.
Regardless of when the club want them to play SKY call the tune.


There is no point the club consulting with the fans it is irrelevant.

They should have just canvassed Sky management because it is SKY who will determine when we play.

Bring on Fridays forget kids and families and start a new marketing strategy because they are losing fans left right and centre over night changes.
There is no point buying a ST.
They now need to look at flexible half season tickets or choose any 6 games or whatever.

When we are all grey and old we'll bring in a fresh batch of 18-50 year olds who haven't grown up watching the giants to come watch... As long as they don't have familes obviously.

Positives... When all the singing and chanting is happening there won't be any children who's voices haven't broke singing and it may sound more intimidating to the opposition.

And.... No second half banging of Big G's annoying drum!

To do away with the families and concentrate more on the 'night out' theme would be silly IMO, we lost 2 generations of fans from the late 70's to the early 00's, those kids that have been introduced are now growing up and having and indeed bringing kids of their own.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we moved to Friday nights and Sky then decided to start showing games on Sunday's again so we have to go through it all again !!

the clubs couldn't sign the new sky contract quick enough so matches will be Thursday Friday and possibly Mondays this and this mad new structure will put fans off buying season tickets especially if there is a large increase.
