Teams need a prop who can do the minutes when required, Raleigh has proved he can do that. The sheer size and the style that Crabtree and Griffin play they find it much more difficult to put the minutes in. I think Larne could, but he is still quite inexperienced and if he did play longer spells it would probably mean he would find it harder to break the tackles. Mason is similar to Larne, but obviously has the experience. When all 5 are fit the club will be in a great position of being able to rotate the props so that they are fresh for the big games and then the four most on form can be picked.
Andy's preferred position is second row. I wouldn't be surprised if his recent ill discipline is due to the frustration of having to play prop, a position he's not comfortable with.
