Agree with this. And frankly, even if we did make the MPG, what's likely to happen? Absolutely no character to recover from something going against them. Disgusting from a set of well paid players.

Huddersfield played both Widnes and yourselves towards the end of the regular season in July and as a side Leigh were way better than Widnes then, both offensively and defensively.
Plenty of sides have made the mistake of setting off at full speed early on in the competition. I think Leigh did this this year then got carried away with themselves. As you say the experienced players who were invaluable early on are now perhaps struggling to keep up to that pace later on in a gruelling season. That's not their fault-if your body won't do it- it won't! that's down to the coach he is inexperienced and perhaps didn't get the right mix of youth and experience, didn't get the conditioning right or spell players earlier on. The club will learn from this.
A loss early in the competition to the challenging championship side puts pressure on- as my team saw last year! Nerves will be kicking in with the players as they start to think about what could happen next. Nerves means mistakes and panic plays. Hope you guys survive as I think it's unfair you haven't had time to put things in place like every other team currently in the SL competition has. Looks like KR could well have done a Leigh of last year and put 2 SL clubs in the MPG. If history continues to repeat a last minute controversial drop goal will save you from the mpg!!!!! It is unbelievable what is going on here. What players are getting away with. This week alone, We have players attending weddings and then bunking off next days training. Thats commitment for you.

We have players who chuck towel in and walk off midweek core fitness drills canot be ar$ed and unbelievably we had one of our key players hold a family christening a couple of hours before the key match. A christening. What on earth is going on ??

I knew we were dead in the water in terms of procuring the win when i heard that.

I am fuming beyond belief. I have made my views abundantly clear by the way. And anyone who knows me knows I bleed Leigh RLFC right through me.

Some of these players are on £170k.it is just not acceptable. It is a disgrace.

You can buy all of the players you want to, but the one thing you can't buy is TEAM SPIRIT. That is what is missing, and has been missing for most of the season. If they are not careful, we won't even be in the MPG...or maybe they know there will be no relegation this season. I don't know but something is amiss.

Amazingly bad yesterday. Brilliantly effective against Catalans, a 2 week rest - then they go and produce the worst display in a long time.

Plan A went out the window just 5 mins in when Mortimer went off. Plan B was nowhere to be seen.

Higham was asked to do too many minutes.

I was angry enough at the end of the game, but Harold you have got me really worried for our future in SL. I know from your past posts that what you write on here is usually accurate. As I have stated in my earlier post on this thread, I saw most of the players walk off the pitch without acknowledging the fans. It struck me as both odd and disrespectful. You sensed that there was something else wrong amongst some of the players by them doing this, but at the time I couldn't be sure. What you have posted makes some sense of all this. Things need to be put right quickly, but after watching Neil Jukes' press conference a couple of times on LCTV he strikes me as a despondent man and the stress is starting to show. He contradicts himself by saying that he was nervous before the game, but the preparation was immaculate, and then he says he was confident, all in one or two sentences. I couldn't understand why he should be nervous after the immaculate preparation. When asked about the booing from the fans he clearly gets agitated and defensive. He's basically saying that he knows how much work is being done by the players and staff, and that the spectators don't. I should hope so too. Neil saw what we all saw during that game yesterday. So does Neil think that the best part of 5000 Leythers are wrong by doing this? Those that did boo were right to do so in my opinion, based on that performance. I hope that if there are any issues behind the scenes at the club that they can be put right ahead of the Wire game.

How many times this season has there been :reports : of players having disputes with coaches or trainers .Its obvious that major trouble is going on behind the scenes

The fact that there are so many people that you could fall out with doesn't help!

I agree with the title of this thread,and all the post have good valid opinions. After calming down somewhat after yesterday,it really is perturbing to hear what's going on at the club if true. Now, we have to look at what we can get out of the remaining games. There are 6 points available which would give us 10 points in total if this can be achieved,so all is not lost.Let's hope and pray we can turn this around.

I'm with you there Cokey. There is still plenty to play for, if the players/coaches are up for it.

These arguments between coaches and players is frustration as players are asking to try other stuff and the coaches are sticking with the same old game plans that don't work and have not worked all season. Just hope we can come together last 3 games and hopefully win our cup final which will be the million pound game.

All of the speculations and very well most probably comments of substance that have been aired in the past 3 pages have to have a source of instigation or even a place to rest the blame.
What could very well have been the saviour of Leigh RLFC a few seasons ago could well be its undoing in something yet to be mentioned, indeed some people may be reticent or even afraid to bring the name Derek Beaumont into the discussion, but as they say the Buck stops at the top, has he interfered to much, could he have come down with a more forceful attitude to the obvious trouble makers (I don't know who they are) but must exist with some of the comments reported on these pages, or has he set the wrong example which his charges are following.
Why has DB insisted all along and unequivocally Jukes is the best man for the job, when a vast number of other people see flaws in his leadership? Who is responsible for the signings who are clearly not up to the job in hand, why after a number of seasons of success has he suddenly relinquished his Director of Rugby mantle when the going has got difficult, perhaps the only person that can seriously answer these questions is the man that DB sees in the mirror.
I want a strong Owner, one who appoints the right people, someone who has mastered the art of delegation, and someone who leads by example, all the exampls of unrest I am reading in these pages shouts loudly to me that the man at the top does not and has not got the respect his employees. He should be going through the club with a fine tooth comb and get it back on track.

Right , we played crap , we lost , it happens , but it doesn't mean the player hate the coaches , or the players don't like each other , or the coaches hate the players or that anybody is interfering

In any working environment , especially one as pressurised as a pro sports team there will be fall outs , but that is not the reason we lost , we played poorly , that's it , it happens all the time to everybody , even the bloody Robots knock on in the pre match credits for christs sake
