Wigan won everything last year without a drum, Sheffield and ourselves won the championship pots and I can't recall a drum at Sheffield either

2 poor examples there wiggin are the biggest club in the northern hemisphere & best supported & Sheffield really? What fans are those? We need to be setting our aspirations higher.

Drums don't win games or create atmosphere.

Exciting play does and good performances of the players involved.

Every now and again I watch Man City when there is no RL to watch. I don't hear drums there although I have witnessed the odd flare set off by some clown (no disrespect Charlie).

You do not hear drums at most footie grounds because folk are not allowed in with them.

Watching exciting play on the pitch determines atmosphere at games and that matters wether you are an elderly or young fan.

When the friendlies are out of the way the atmosphere at matches at the LSV will ratchet up because fans realise due to the scrapping of licenscing the days of every league game being friendlies are thank god over .

I will not criticise the club for trying something new because we are hardly packing them in to the rafters without a drum as it is,

We all go to a game to enjoy the rugby and to soak up the atmosphere of a live match so well done to club for attempting to address the issue and implement a solution.

If a drum enhances the kids enjoyment, and a few of them bring their parents back with them the following week then we begin to build a platform to increase gates. Alternatively we can carry on and do nothing.

Besides we can place the drummer amongst people who don't mind us trying like Me, Demon and leyther geezer.

10-15 of us stand together at games, all aged 24-30 and not one wants a drum. But, yeah, it must be an age thing.

Fact is, a lot of games in recent years have lacked intensity on the field, and it's only natural that that's reflected in the stands. When it's been a 'big' game, the atmosphere has been top notch at times. A 'manufactured' will add nothing to the smaller games and ruin the bigger games.

I'd also question why away fans keep being directed to West Stand (South) as it means they're far too far away to engage in any sort of banter with the more vocal types in the North. Reckon we'd be kicking up a stink at away games if we were being encouraged to gather in an area that's £2 more expensive as well.

Well with the attendances at the 3 SL friendlies averaging well over 2000 signs are surely good. Maybe an increased attendance and some wins will help to create an atmosphere.

Wonder if some of the people who agree with having a drum even join in singing with us when we at the top of the north stand start a song going?

If it is to enhance the kids experience then open part of the East Stand to do it. Like I said I purchased a season ticket close to the halfway in the West North Stand. If the club want to put someone banging a drum near there they can give me my money back. I'm all for a rockin atmosphere but drums aren't the way to get it. Franks

I think when I get going I'm one of the loudest people in the north stand. As you can see my face in my avatar I'm not hiding behind anything so don't worry about me I do my bit

Open the north part of the east stand and put the kids in and give parky a drum but not in the north stand please

Drums are a pain as far as I'm concerned.
This coming season and the next should increase the gates and the atmosphere given what's at stake.

I thought it was the ice cream man but when I asked him for a nougat wafer he told me to F*&k off, He lost the "clanger" early on in the match though. I was stood behind him and saw it fly off (just missed you by the way)

I heard the Batley fans were in reception kicking off because it was confiscated lol

Actually it was confiscated and I saw them being given it back after the game from reception.

Why the hell would you want to take a Bell or Drum for that matter to a game. The atmosphere will improve with greater crowds and top RL on the pitch. Keep the annoying muppets with Drums etc at other clubs.

What a bell. Quite literally.

It was broke within 15 mins ( I saw the brass clapper fly off and kicked it along the terrace ) the bell my have been confiscated later on but it wasn't for him ringing it

Despite the great day all round after full time I saw a bloke moaning at the stewards for allowing away supporters into the north stand. The same bloke was kicking off at a young family for daring to stand in front of him during the play off game and rather hypocritically spent the second half of the game at Mount P banging on the glass and swearing at people behind it!

The North Stand sounded fantastic today, I'm not sure whether it could be heard over the radio but I hope it could because it sounded great from the East Stand.

Could definately hear the crowd noise over the radio Mish, sounded great. Especially after the 100 yard try, the noise was amazing!!! Can't wait to see that one on LCTV!
