| There is a big advantage finishing top, we get Bradford at home in the play-offs, not away.

| I think we also get 9th from SL at home which as I said in the OP could mean we play Warrington twice if they/we end up in the play off game. Lets not forget all teams would have played each other before the million pound game either at home or away.Thats why it's paramount to get 4th spot and make sure we have home advantage should the need come about that is.

| I think people are underestimating how difficult it will be for teams from our level to raise their game every week to that intensity. Wakey wont be as bad as people are thinking and realistically I think whoever finishes 5th out of Leigh and Bradford still have a massive ask to win that game.

| Some fans are delusional in believing it will be a stroll to make SL, we are very much the underdog for a reason. You saw the pace the game was played at on Saturday, and I would love that to be the case in every game we play until the 8's but it wont the ruck speed will be back to the awful pace we see every week, the niggle will be allowed and then when we hit the 8's we have to adapt.
The refs need to get the championship clubs playing at SL pace NOW so we are comfortable with it when it matters, unless of course the RFL plan is for no promoted clubs.
Lets see some great games played at pace and enter the 8's with a fully fit squad then see what unfolds.

If this was the final rankings for the middle 8s, Then I think finishing 1st in the championship looks more attractive. Home games = Widnes, Bradford, Wakefield, Sheffield. Away games = Hull, Salford, Halifax.

| I agree Sheffield Eagles v Featherstone Rovers is the one for me that will determine that 4th place. But even then Fev have the better points difference,so if they are level on points Fev will pip them to 4th.

| Fev have still got Bradford, Leigh, and Sheffield so would need to win one of those and then hope that Halifax lose more than 2. Realistically if Fax manage to beat Sheffield on Sunday it will be the London V Sheffield game that could decide if Fax finish 3rd thats thinking Fax will lose to Bradford.
London are probably the team that could still sneak in to the top 4 with 4 wins and hoping Fax lose 2. If Fax beat Sheffield then London would have to win all 4 of their remaining games and over turn a massive points difference to finish above Fax if results went like that though London could still over turn Sheffields point difference meaning they missed out on the top 4. Its great isnt it.

I'd say Salford are down, Widnes lost their big man in Kevin Brown who would return for the first game in the Middle 8s, still in with a slight chance to get in the top eight though. Looking at the fixtures I personally think Warrington will take 8th place, with Widnes, Salford and Wakefield.
Really looking forward to the middle 8s, very game matters when you technically all start again from 0.
Warrington
Widnes
Bradford
Leigh
Salford
Wakefield
Sheffield
Featherstone/Halifax/London.

| Leigh will have gained valuable experience playing Salford, Wakefield and especially Warrington this season in the cup. I am confident the lads will do well in the Middle 8's.
Against Warrington, too many things didn't fall our way and Ridy's kicking was off. But that aside, the lads were able to play the fast and expansive rugby that they're exellent at and it was obvious they relished it.

I believe 1 team will get promoted, just hope it's Leigh.

| I'm presuming SLY have the rights to the Middle 8's? So we will all have quick turnarounds on every game to make, something SL teams are use too. Be very interesting to see how we deal with the quick turnarounds in the upcoming fixtures left.

| seems daft but I think Finishing 4th would suit leigh better. I know you only get 3 home games coming 4th but all three are against SL teams finishing 9,10,11th with only the bottom SL club away.
If I were a leigh fan I would rather play the Top SL teams at home, know you could probably see off the champ teams and wakey away.
But your abviously not gonna play for forth lol. There massive arguments with the fixtures in the middle eights as to thay actually favour

Well you can't argue the fixtures until you know what they are.And that's still up in the air for both leagues..The next couple of weeks will see those fixtures being more transparent, how clubs deal with it going forward to the 8's is another thing.

Yes but they announced they'll be showing 1 game from The Qualifiers every week on a Saturday so not that much of a short turnaround.

Should be a cracking set of games and after watching our Warrington cup game (and seeing the Warrington result today) I truly beleighve that the lads will pull this off.
There is no doubt that we will have to be at our best in every game, but at our best, Wakey are beatable, Salford seem in disarray right now, and Hull just lost to Wakey so are they cracking ?
It also seems that Bradford are starting to show signs of wavering and the teams fighting for 3rd and 4th in the Championship are going to have to go all out for the rest of the regular season, so may be jaded going into the 8's.
I fully expect PR and the lads to aim to win every game between now and the 8's as that is our mentality (and long may it remain) but I also expect to see a few players rested or at least spelled in games leading in. Paul has shown in his time as head coach that he more than capable of managing the tough task the that run in and the 8's pose for a coach.
Win or lose, this is what sport is all about. Bring it on

That doesn't mean teams won't be playing Thursday,Friday or Sunday. That just means 1 game per week will have a Saturday slot. I'm pretty sure SLY will incorporate the middle 8's with the SL games Thursday and Friday nights.Makes for better viewing numbers for them.
