We could but then what do you do with him when we get Higson back? I've always thought Pownall is a good winger and he had a good game against Fev in the reserves. Better to put him in as he's more involved with the club and so knows better how we're playing, than pull Brown back from a loan with another team.

I'd imagine Aspinwall will be bought in for Sunday with Pownall possibly. I see a little bit of a positive with AJ's injury as it finally gives our out of favour wingers a chance show what they can do. Foster's a good prospect but there's no way he'd push Penky out of the 17 on Sunday.

If AJ is out I would like to see Pownall get his chance. He did well for us last year and has carried on in the reserves.

Never a positive when players get injured. However we do have the luxury of a decent sized squad, so i'd give pownall the chance to show what he can do. As for lewis, well he impresses me alot, but would still bring penky back in.

Will Barlow not be fit for Sunday?

PR said Barlow was left out against Doncaster because of a niggling back problem which he picked up against Fev in the cup game. He said it was a precaution so I expect he will be back for Sunday.

I would go Pitman/Maden wing with Haggerty/Littler centre with a tight pitch.

Ostick, aspinwall and bate were all awesome in reserves last week. Just shows how good our squad is, that players like this are being left out

Same as last week imo with Pownall replacing AJ' Barlow for Sarsfield and Aspinwall for Acton.

Duffy or Barlow for Acton , Brown or Pownall for AJ and littler for Matty

Owlerton is a horrible stadium and I played there as a kid in the 86, then watched Leigh beat Sheffield in our promotion season.

If we do win, I feel we wont be stopped.

I know what you're saying Snowy but I think this game will follow the patern of several games so far. a very close and hard fought first half, but a win for the good guys as we wear down Sheff in the second half.

Sundays game is so important , Owlerton is not that bad , granted the pitch isn't up to much , but there is plenty of Parking , though it is hard to get away from , and the Panoramic views from the bar are very good .I think experience is the order of the Day for this game , so with the injuries in mind , my team would be .

This is just my opinion , no doubt the Salfordlad will tell us what HE has decided to be the 17 who will play will be , even if we win on Sunday I think we will still lose a game or 2 somewhere along the line this season .

Don't think he's been a prolific scorer but got MOTM in League Express a couple of weeks ago and Kear sounds happy enough with him.

I have not seen Sheffield play this season but their recent results indicate they are not as strong as last season so I am confident we will make it a record breaking 15th consecutive win.

PR will surely address our left wing defence.

It isn't necessarily the wing that is the problem, it's the forwards on that side not sliding across quick enough which leaves Kay/Armstrong exposed.

The onus is on the left second row forward to be first across to help his backs.
