Could I just make clear that I was not querying the decision not to award a try to Thornley,though it looked wrong,but that I cannot understand why he then gave a penalty to us.A neutral i.e. Hull f.c. supporter has suggested that there must have been a foul by Leigh followed by a foul by Cats before the grounding ,but there is no evidence of either.On the Video Anderson looks 2 metres onside for the first disallowed try . I accept that Duport-my bete -noir -did not ground the ball.Thanks for accepting that we were the better team.It costs me a hell of a lot in money and nerves to support this lot and I had nearly given up on them. Once again good luck

McNally deserves the chance to prove himself, defensively weak I'll give you, takes the high ball pretty well but offers quite a lot in attack
Ridyard looked ok to me in spells last night, took the line in a few times which he wouldn't normally do - like to see him have a run alongside Drinkwater

Yes there must have been a foul by Leigh for the Cats to get the penalty , probably given by the touch judge

Well ! Gigot is French and he was our best player. After that I would go Myler,Wiliame Thornley,but then Bousquet and Baitieri. In general ,however, you do have a point.We are not keeping,as distinct from producing, a number of good players---Fages,Springer and Navarette come to mind-I am not bothered about the others.We have a good u19 team ,which may assist in due course.

I don't know your real name & therefore which RL coach you were but, it is clear that your command of the English language is quite poor & you lack the basic literacy skills to formulate & construct a coherent sentence.
Having said that, I do not want to enter into a character assassination of you, you may well have a multitude of other skills & attributes that I & others do not posess.

I would be interested to know your real name, who you coached & when, not so that I can deride your ability, more that I can place you to an era.

FWIW, in terms of rugby, I have played amateur RL for Bedford High School, Leigh College & Leigh Miners + the R.A.F & RU for R.A.F Wittering & Corby Town RUFC, never a target for pro rugby but an 1/2 decent Centre/Wing & F.B.

I started following Leigh RLFC in the 80-81 season having moved from Manchester & having limited knowledge of RL other than CC games on TV.

In the period 90-99 I saw little of Leigh RL being away from home for long periods, so maybe you were involved back then.

Generally I feel that the majority of RL fans of all Clubs are reasonably well informed about the game even if they have zero playing or coaching skills. Obviously playing or coaching adds an element of insight into the intricacies of RL that an average fan might not have.

In the most considered & polite way I can muster, might I suggest that rather than allowing anger to rule & then posting in haste that you consider what you type before hitting send. I don't mean to offend in saying this, just that it might help others understand you better & avoid the unnecessary name calling.

I would gladly have a pre match livener with you & dicuss RL views though it should be born in mind that I pull no punches in saying as I see also.

He was having a dig at me with the literacy classic Ste - think the time it was written may account for the standard of it

, as his comments are generally quite sensible

Think the period 90-99 you missed accounts for not knowing him, as he was Leigh coach for some period within it (successful or not is for better people than me to judge)

I'm with you on tis one! McNally and Ridyard are our classiest players, proven over the years, rubbish to talk of them not being SL class! Both played huge parts in our middle eight campaign against the SL teams! Watch the HKR game if you want to see some game management, Riddy set up two tries kicked the goals and then, dropped a goal and told HKR; you cant win now


How good was Gigot's defence when Riddy ran down the middle of their defence, looked over his shoulder and there, as usual was McNally to put the ball under the 'H's' welcome back gregg

I'll bet Hull Fullback Jaime Shaul had a sleepness night on Friday, he was responsible for leaking 54 points, wasn't he

Was pleased to see Greg at fullback and Dwayne and Riddy with more game time coming into the game more.
Friday wasn't all doom & gloom as despite that daft 20mins in the first half where we gifted posession and penalties (and had Hock sin binned) we bounced back, pretty sure we won the second period so plenty to build on.
Most fans outside Leigh expect us to tire in games with many thinking we'd really struggle, 6 points on the board (could've been 10 with a bit of luck/composure)and not too many games we've had the rub of the green (that should even out over a season) so injuries aside plenty reasons to remain upbeat and positive.
Tough looking Easter but I'll take this over what we had last season in a lower league.
