| we will give them a coach and let them in for a £10 next haha
anyway here is another thought why is this offer only open to ST holders of other clubs why not all of their fans?
is this just because they can prove they are a fan of another club?
what benifit to leigh is if a sthelens/widnes/warrington/wigan fan has a ST for their club?
if we are trying to get people to come to leigh games why dont we make the offer available to all supporters of other clubs?
regardless of if they have a season ticket or not i.e including the people of leigh?
£10 is great value to watch leigh games 2500+ would easily be achivable. especially with family offers etc
boxes ticked and finances met everyones a winner

| Quote ="The Prophet"=#FF0000To put on free coaches for away fans is a dreadful idea - you must realise that as you know what the cost of a coach is to the various grounds.
All this focus on fans other than our own is nothing short of insanity. Our main priority has to be to keep our existing season ticket & Touchdown members happy and then beyond that to engage with and attract as many Leythers as possible at both an individual and corporate level.
Of course this incentive will work at Fev who have every income stream to tap into at their ground, we have ticket income, end of.
Run with this idea and an average crowd of 1500 is a pipe dream, starting tomorrow.'"
The free coach idea was part of a bigger ' plan ' , it was tied in with getting large numbers of ' New ' Leigh supporters in to individual matches and improving the atmosphere at those matches partly by encouraging a larger away following than usual , it did have much more of a control aspect to it than a cheap ticket deal like the one being discussed on this thread

| Quote ="Alexs Dad"Let me get this right...
In an attempt to get away fans into LSV we're letting them in for a tenner. Thats a tenner more than we got last season when they stayed at home.
The chances of that same away fan coming to LSV more than once in the season are between nil and not a lot. In return we might be able to get into their ground for a tenner. Result.
If we let a SDL ST holder in for not a lot, then its more than we got when he didn't come at all. If he comes more than 3 or 4 times under the scheme then I'd be suprised. But its income we didnt get beforehand.
Cant see why folk are getting all worked up about it.'"
It's very simple, we have approx 500 season ticket holders & Touchdown members and thus are relying on the balance of the crowd to be Leythers on the day, away fans & neutrals.
First lot to be wound up by this are our 500 who have stumped up for tickets, who now are aware visiting supporters pay less than they do attend - brilliant incentivisation to renew next year.
Next our walk up support who are bound to be delighted to pay more than away fans/neutrals - course they'll keep coming.
If you honestly think this is a marketing strategy which will increase revenue into the club then I have some further bad news - Father Christmas doesn't exist!

| Was skeptical of the idea when I saw Fev were doing it the more I think of it the less I like it, the only way any of our own could benefit is if the other league clubs are daft enough to swallow it.

| Well I am a touchdown member and I've not got a problem with this offer, especially as next week at fev ( and hopefully a few more ) I will get in for £10 being a season ticket holder. One gripe over the last few years on here as been the poor away support so we are trying an incentive to bring more away supporters which in turn will generate a better atmosphere which means a more enjoyable match experience. Last season we gave away season tickets, played some great attractive rugby and won one of the 2 major trophies available at our level and I am afraid the Leigh public did not turn out in numbers, and don't seen interested in doing so. People will either support the club or won't and we will still avg the same old 2200 - 2500 over the season this year Imo.

| Starbug,
Why would we bust by June have i missed anything below or are my attendance figures not achievable with this ticketing policy?
Revised figures based on average of £10 per person (adults, kids, consessions)
2500 crowd average
£350,000 - 15% LSV cost = £297,500
£297,500 - ticket sales
£20,000 - sponsorship?
£30,000 - corperate?
£90,000 - RFL
£50,000 - Lottery?
£20,000 - LISA?
£10,000 - merchandise?
£10,000 - Programme?
£527,500 - Total?
£105,500 - VAT
£422,000 - grand total
£300,000 - operational cost
£122,000 - contingency
Revised figures based on average of £10 per person (adults, kids, consessions)
2000 crowd average
£240,000 - 15% LSV cost = £204,000
£204,000 - ticket sales
£20,000 - sponsorship?
£30,000 - corperate?
£90,000 - RFL
£50,000 - Lottery?
£20,000 - LISA?
£10,000 - merchandise?

£434,000 - Total?
£86,800 - VAT
£347,200 - grand total
£300,000 - operational cost
£47,200 - contingency
Note - no end of season playoff games have been included in this so that could be an extra bonus
Why can you not segrigate fans? Havnt we done this before? Dont other clubs already do this hull for example?
Dont football teams do this?

| 1 - we have no money from the RFL this season
2 - other debts to pay beside the taxman
The board have budgeted to be clear or almost clear of debt by the end of the season, so yes I would have to say you've missed a fair bit. If they don't do it, say bye bye to your beloved club and any chance however remote of playing at the top level again. Harsh but true I'm afraid

| Also would the £122,000 (including the 90,000 from the RfL) not clear our debts. Dont forget we have had the money so it is in this years budget?

| We have not had the 90k in theory as the RFL are sending it straight to the taxman and we might get a bit of change, there was also a substantial overdraft to pay. I would suggest you ask the questions at the next fans forum, or just ask Trevor or Keith yourself. They won't sugar the pill.

| Look I'd love for us to get a sponsor to cover the costs for 1 game , I have even suggested the RFL should do it for every club for just 1 match each per season , and let everybody in for free , just to see how many actually turn up ?
I think you would be surprised
The prices set are realistic for the attendances we are likely to get , look at it this way , For the last 3 seasons Arthur Thomas has been subsidising everybodys tickets by around 80 % , the true cost of entry to the LSV for the last 3 years has been around £ 22 per adult
You are suggesting we can survive on recieving around £ 8.00 per adult and that we will suddenly increase attendances as a result , sorry but it wont happen , and it is a very dangerous game to play , Huddersfield manage it because Ken Davy writes a cheque for the difference , the Bulls get 1.2 million from SKY , sell loads of Beer/food on the day and still had to sell Odsall to the RFL for a 7 figure sum
Once you ' give it away ' for nothing , it loses all its value
Marketing , controled use of free tickets and inititatives , massive community contact and hard work are the only ways we will build our support base and our club as a result of that , reducing the value of a brand that only around 2,000 people currently think worth anything isn't the way
All IMO of course

| Hunslet have decided to charge £16 this season and I believe are targeting the Fev match for a 'special' price for away supporters that has been met with disgust (gonna put it up for that game). So far their 2 home matches have seen crowds of less than 400 due to fans voting with their feet and staying away. Granted the teams they have played are not renowned for a big away following but it makes you wonder. £16 is overpriced and to charge an extra £2 to sit down is ridiculous. At Fev its £15, stand, sit, levitate..... its up to you!
If you feel so strongly about the offer, feel free to keep your season ticket in your pocket in 2 weeks and pay the full whack.

| The price to get in does not keep people away, you either want to support Leigh or you don't it isn't dictated by price imo. As starbug hints at ( unless I'm reading him wrong ) even if tomorrow night you let people in for free we would still struggle to get 3000 in the ground.

Correct , I know lets conduct a simple experiment , Tommorrow everybody that has bought a single match ticket brings the equivilant amount in cash and gives it to the club , the next match after that , everybody gets in for free
Simples
How many would turn up ?
