Just a last note on tonight's broadcast. As stated earlier, it was the first time this had been tried and was very much a test on the (Leighlife) system. We had a bit of a sweat on (outright panic actually) when the radio went live and the site went down but we now know why this happened and can make provisions for any future broadcasts, and by next season everything will be hunky dory for the live match broadcasts.

I must apologise to those who could hear a bit of whispering at the beginning, apparently the mic on the laptop was accidentally left on for a short while.



Anyway I'm glad those who couldn't make it to the LSV managed to listen to at least some of it and now I've seen it in action, I can't wait till we can do the games next year.

i gained a lot of respect for eith freer and coffey, i wish i had the money to invest, als i am a poor civil servant, but if we all do our bit then OUR club has a future. Whoever that ex director was at the start, well if you have a beef with the current lot i suggest you air it at a different forum, it was not the best start, and as maurice aka neil said in his speech, if people are bothered about he price of beer/food at lsv, don't buy it then, i know i dont, and as he said it does not go to the club. all in all i came away more positive than i went in.

Agreed. I think the current board did really well and were quite honest and frank with what people had to say to them.

As for the former director, he was sat directly in front of me and all he did through the entire meeting was mutter to his freinds and rubbish everything everyone had to say.

Irrespective of who is paying Chris's contract, he would still be on match terms at Leigh, and be owed money by Leigh, for the matches he played in September.

Terribly sorry to have bored you my friend. What was said about hospital radio, was part of a presentation about 'Communications' and how we are trying to communicate with both existing fans and potential ones, to get more people to the club and therefore, more money.

I guess, if they only picked up what you did, I failed on the communications front and would maybe be better advised to spend my considerable time and energy doing something else, for me rather than the club.

The Maurice is very sorry The Watcher struggles with basic English, I was baffled why we were wasting time talking about the price of ale in the LSV when we had a club to save. I was also worried about what I heard as a slash the costs and maintain the revenue solution. The gap is tiny and I was expecting a rallying call to remove it - I attempted to remind folk how easy the gap could be removed.

Told my mrs about it when I got in and she said if Leigh want a SL club, that's a way of doing it.

It was Johnny, as a response to someone going on about Sky funding reducing £10k - so if 1000 families in Leyth stopped it and stated that it was because of the treatment of non SL RL, even better if every other club did the same, then in Leyth alone subs drop £600k pa. If 200 fans donated that saving back to the club then we are in a very healthy position - as I am sick of saying the deficit is peanuts lets get the initiatives rolling and lets take our club forward.

In todays climate companies are fighting for our £'s so lets maximise those opportunities by uniting the fans behind the objectives eg 1200 families spending £5k pa at a supermarket = £6m pa = £2m GP = difference between doing well or not, as fixed cost reductions would be limited.

Didn't think the RFL gave us any money, so how can they advance it


And if that is coming out of next years budget, that appears to be a massive chunk of the overall budget, along with the tax stuff and all.

RFL funding was £100k in 2011, and £90k in 2012.

When is the club sending out an online form to fill in for touchdown club? I'll send it to everyone in my contacts, could do with a well written plea on it too.

If we all send it to everyone and get one or two people each it could make all the difference.

I thought the meeting went really well, spoiled only by John Abbey. Obviously he has legitimate concerns about the past and his role in it, but the fans forum was the wrong time and place to air his disgruntlement and he started the evening off on a very sour note. Why did he feel the need to ask his questions then anyway? That's all old news and if he was that concerned (rather than just trying to cause trouble) he could have talked about it privately at any other time.

I agree I was horrified, as the people he was having a go at, have only ever put money in and never took[size=200 1[/size penny out. They have worked hard trying to keep the club going.

Whereas it made sense to be discussing those sorts of things as a means of improving the matchday experience for the mutual benefit of LRL and LSVCo. The majority of the short term debt will be covered with the advance of the (reduced) RFL cash, so the longer term cash flow becomes more of a focus to ensure we aren't in the same problem last year. What were you expecting, Live Aid?

The former Director annoyed the hell out of me...... we all went there to find out the current situation at the club and find a way out of it..... then numpty stands up - "I put 80 grand in etc".

That was in the past - Well done doing that in the past and a big Thank You for doing so at that time........... BUT it didn't help things last night or the current situation.

Time for the silly little bickering to STOP and lets find a way out of this mess and move forward. The club is in a lot better situation than a lot of other clubs in the following ways:-

Stadium, Ticked box by winning the NRC, larger crowds, shirt sales and junior development.

The club as got the potential to go on to bigger and better things BUT lets stop the stupid digs at the club and work together to sort the current situation out.
