You'd like to think so, as it might convince some teams to be more competitive. However, the 'rules' clearly state an open draw. Mind you, when have the RFL ever let set rules get in the way?  |

The top four teams in each pool go into an open draw for the Quarter Finals. This will be broadcast live by Sky Sports during half time at the Leigh v Featherstone game on Thursday 10 March.
Sky Sports will televise one Northern Rail Cup quarter-final tie live on Thursday 7 April and one of the semi-finals on Thursday 16 June as well as providing full coverage of the Northern Rail Cup Final at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, on Sunday 17 July. On the Saturday the Northern Rail 9s adds to what promises to be an exciting Rugby League weekend at Britain's most popular seaside resort.

Well if that is right provided Fax beat Haven on Wednesday it would be
Leigh v Toulouse' Fax v Dews Widnes v Hunslet and Fev v Batley.
Have to say I think it is a straight draw but whatever' to win it' have to say I am more confident than last season whatever the draw. And I did not think we played to our potential yesterday. |
