Nope! If we get rid of the lot and start again with better players we'll need a Saudi consortium to pay the wage bill! Just trying to get a stronger side together that the present players will aspire to lift their game to the level of some new signings! In all honesty, it boils down to pride in wearing the Leigh shirt. If the team did that then we wouldn't be in the predicament we are today!

Agree with that. He may be good/OK in attack and a very good goalkicker but at times he is woeful in a defensive situation. The lad has a lot to learn to come anywhere near the standards of a certain Mr. Neil Turley! He needs to think and be more aware of the game in defence.

He cost us an important try at fev by not kicking the ball dead. A good full back as to be fearless and descisive, not two words I would use to describe Morty.

Know where you're coming from Ste, but cast your mind back to Stuart Donlan, as a young full back. He used to stand on the tryline to make his tackles and attacking players just fell over him. Under Millward, he developed spectacularly. This might not have been down to Ian, it could have been Stuart himself, or his dad, Steve, of course.

I guess the point I am making is that Ian's coaching might just bring Mort on, (because he does have some talent) big time too.

Agreed, I'm sure Millward will bring him on leaps and bounds, he will only get better with time and experience. Defending as a full back is difficult and learning how to defend as a full back and which positons to get into comes with time and experience, you only need to watch how natural Donlan's defensive game is at full back now through the years of experience.

Its alright playing with passion and pride if you don't have much possitional sense and you play full back

Different type of players, Dollin tells me his prefered role is centre, where Ian is deffo a full back.

I should think the answer to that would be to ask him. He seems a very approachable young man.
To the best of my knowledge he as not been offered a new contract and from what i hear as not spoken to any other club.
You know him as well as anybody Fred, and i'm sure he will give you the answer.
It may well be the case that he is surplus to requirements, i don't know. However one thing i know is the lad is Leigh through and through, and will only develop as a fullback under the quality coaching that Ian Millward will offer.
Any fullback playing in the seasons current squad would of been badly exposed and imo the lad as come through it quite well. Ok, defence needs work, but his support play is superb. Take away his match winning scores and we would be dwelling in the bottom two.

I second that,his support play is faultless and he can only get better under Millward so i hope he does stay with us after all is'nt he the second highest try scorer.

To be honest when I do speak to players its rarely about Rugby I wouldn't want to divulge any 'secrets', that and its very rare im anywhere near the LSV except on match days in fact for the next month or so its very rare i'll be anywhere near Leigh as Chatteau Mettallica bekons
