My judgement would be that you were the better team in the first half, I couldn't see us winning at half time because we were poor. Second half just a different story. Leigh played immense, and Widnes were beyond woeful, it was like you weren't bothered. You'd won the first half, your players thought you had it won. And with regards to Ropati, no thanks, you've taken Macgraff and are paying his wages, we're not swapping poor players about.

millward- speed it up at the play the ball and throw the ball around

betts- no point playing in the second half, none of you will be here next season anyway

I hope widnes have really deep pockets because they need to buy a completely different squad because the current one isn't good enough for championship never mind superleague

Thats what i was thinking, if that Widnes team was put up against Wire, Saints, Leeds. All 3 would near 100 points each.

That second half was the best I have EVER, EVER seen Leigh play in my lifetime.
Completion was almost if not 100%, we hit the rucks at pace and ran fantastic angles - nobody in our division and a lot of SL would not have survived that 40.

Looking at Widnes players behind the sticks second half, I would say you have little team spirit and are definately not a team. That may be because some have SL contracts and others won't be wanted, but boy did it show when the tide changed.

youve got to say that was probably one of the best coached games you are ever gonna see in any league.millward knew they were a big set and he saved our forwards in the first half by using our wingers to take a lot of ball in.
second half we speeded the play the ball up and them big forwards just couldnt match our speed up front and around the ruck.

Absolutely no doubts about it - you leythers gave us a total shellacking today - enjoy it folks - you deserved it.

I too would love to know what happened at half time. In the first half we put on pressure, but didn't look like creating much, whilst you guys only really got into our '22' four times, scored three and bombed another.

Yet in the second half, we were on fire - just like last week, at Barrow, when we were clinging on at half time, having been 14 points behind, on three occasions. Half time probably came at a bad time for Widnes, and a good one for us - it was probably something in the half time cuppa, that changed things!



Inevitably you will now have to endure the 'SL' jibes that will be heading your way. All you need to remember, is that you have qualified, on and off the pitch, according to the laid-down criteria. Obviously you will have to invest in a new squad - but that was always going to be the case.

You are easily the best team we have faced so far this season. What you need to do is put out a big call and get the fans back in, thats the kind of Rugby that will get them coming back.

We got kicked out of the game in the first half two well constructed tries from kicks which was due to us dropping a lot of ball and giveing away good field position. Thackaray is lethal if he gets a lot of time on the ball, we also fell off tackles. Widnes then got involved in a daft scrap just before half time with a lot of verbals, that and Millwards bo***king clearly got us fired up. The first Widnes kick of the second half Hill and Govin (MOM for me) charged the kicker and it landed in Donlans hands. After we had sorted that we got on the front foot and our pack started to get on top and our backs got on a massive roll, not many teams could have lived with that today.

The Widnes turnout was poor again and Myler is a complete tool. Vark and your winger with the daft boots both got injured and we still scored more tries over Myler.

Cheers, to be fair the Chemics have been very dignified and complimentary in defeat.

I wouldnt know, I was gone and in Westhoughton when the FT hooter sounded. Never been so deflated after watching a game in Rugby for as long as i can remember, and that considering i was expecting a defeat.

Brilliant performance from Leigh today in the 2nd half. Attendance wasn't to good though, only 3,198. I thought there would at least be 3,700-4,000. I was very dissapointed from the Leigh turnout, some on here saying they thought our turnout was poor, bet you won't bring as many to the Stobart.
But once again, great performance, and I can see you only losing a few this season if any.

Oh and to the few that was waving towards our fans at the end, I think we should of been the ones waving as we'll probably (hopefully) in different divisions next year.

Oh come on jonny it was a good turn out by Widnes, 600 to 800 we all thought, we will not see that many from a team this season, well done Widnes fans.
