Just got back and I seriously cant find the words to say about how bad we were.
I know though I just wasted 10 and a half hours of my life. Utterly depressed

Was told also the team coach only left at 3.15 and got there after 5, thats is pi55 poor planning .

I'm more annoyed at the 30quid i've just wasted - not rich enough to throw money away

It's a shame, I like Leigh, but it smacks this year of having no money or infrastructure. You lost Doran and Kohe-love etc You've probably not got much worse, the league standard has definately been raised.

I dont mind watching my team lose every week, if i did so knowing that 1-17 were putting every last ounce of themselves into the game, and playing for the badge, and also us the fans, they represent us, and our team with it's illustrious past. Each time they put the shirt on they are joining an exclusive group of men, those who have pulled that cherry and white jersey on, and should be looking to emulate those who have gone before and even better them! To stand out and be remembered years from now, to be talked about in every pub on game day from the nevison to the foundry as are Woods, Street, Drummond etc. Is that not why they play?! If we had a team of players who looked at it this way, which is the way it IS to me, we wouldn't be as we are.

Thats just it, the heart is being ripped out of our club because of little cliques within the club all in it for what they can get, and it really does sadden me. We dont need players who have more skill, we need players to have more belief and passion. You dont have to have flair and skill, you just need to go out there and be the best you can be, and have a bit of ambition within the game and anyone at this club who is prepared to do that will always have my backing.

i can garentee that the team were there no earlier or no later than they usually get to a ground before a game

most team normally get to a ground 1hr 30 mins before kick off and leigh was the same today

You should know you cant give facts on here I heard from the check out girl in Asda who knows someone at the park inn who said they still saw Arthur, Allan and Paul playing golf on Pennington at 4pm????

I travelled on the coach we left at 2 and hit traffic, had a ten min stop and got there at 5. I was knackered, stiff as a board too, surely the team felt the same
I would have got them there to watch the 21s and had a light lunch en route.

No team travels on a double decker bus

Given the traffic on the M6, I'd be hugely surprised if the team got there for half 5, and even that would be achieved without any rest breaks. Not good preparation in the slightest after such a long journey, and anyone who argues otherwise is sadly deluded.

Of the performance, for the first time I felt completely embarrassed by a Leigh team, even worse than some of the smackings we took in 1998.

Only a couple of players come out of that with any credit whatsoever. We know they can do better, they showed us last week.

I want to see fighting spirit and commitment from my team for the rest of the season. It's been evident in 90% of games this season.

Regarding preparation though, I've travelled up to Whitehaven with the team when they arrived a bare half hour before the kick off due to traffic and seen them win.

I think there should be a lot of soul searching this week done by everyone at the club.

The people that went deserve better.

For most of the time yesterday, it appeared that we hadn't turned up at all, never mind 90 minutes before k-o! I honestly fancied our chances, given that Barrow had lost four of their previous six games, they had players out injured and were attempting to introduce a new coach and players into a team. That normally takes time, yet we saw two half backs, Coyle and Rooney playing as though they had been together all season, not just three days! If Ian has got someone better than Coyle in mind, he must be a good one! And Rooney is pure class - so aware of what is going on around him, with so much time to spare. True, it helps to show your class, if nobody is tackling you! Our team, however, looked as though they hadnever played together before!

I don't think I've ever seen so many one-on-one tackles missed, and players so unaware of what was happening on the field! As I've already posted, it's ok shoving your full back at hooker, (honestly!) if anyone is covering for him. (they weren't!) Even I saw that, from the stand! So did Rooney, he kicked, Nixon who was also aware, chased and scored! They also kicked from their own 20, when Mort had been in our defensive line and was trotting back, with his back to the opposition. He didn't even see the ball until it bounced behind him! That's not to single out one player - they were all bad, every one of them!

I didn't go and haven't been for while admittedly. I simply don't have money to throw away on the garbage we're serving up.

Nobody want us to win more than me and of course I want us to stay up but there must be some kind of explanation for that kind of performance after beating Sheffield the previous week.

I couldn't live with myself knowing I've not given 110% for the team but it seems some of them weren't bothered yesterday.

I went yesterday and was very disappointed with the effort, which reminded me of the game against the London Broncos in 2005 and we know whay happened that season!

The most disappointing aspect of the game was that we were equally bad in both half’s. Normally at half time the team can be galvanised to produce a better second half. If we are to stay up we need to be fighting for every point, relegation this year could be decided on points difference or a bonus point gained, yesterday we accepted our fate and either couldn't be bothered or couldn't do anything to stop Barrow.

I agree strongly with Alan about Stuart. I am sure he wants to play but he has now become a weak link (due to injury), which the opposition are targeting. What motivation for a reserve player when you are deemed not good enough to replace a player that can hardly walk.

Rooney was a class above yesterday and the one thing you do not give a class player is time and we gave him plenty to do whatever he wanted. I think individually a lot of the players are better than yesterday’s performance but collectively as a team we were woeful.

Lets hope the team can rally together because the Doncaster lads will be getting the sniff of an upset.
