Got to the match after all, was let out of work at 7.30 so rushed home got changed and on the ground for 8.05.

Looks like the fans voted with their feet last night and gave Friday nights a resounding thumbs up! I bet the bitter "I don't like change" brigade even turned up!

Personally I think if last nights game had been played on a Sunday afternoon the crowd would have topped 4000 no problem , I know so many who couldn't attend because of work commitments , not forgetting the poor Fev following because of the game being on a Friday .Myself I would attend whatever day it was on , we have had this owd Chestnut many times , where is Jonny for a Poll ?Im sure Sunday would be most Popular .

3600 on a Sunday afternoon against Fev in the cup and they brought about 800 for that game. I know so many who came last night because they tend to do more family orientated things on a Sunday afternoon. Embrace change.

No season tickets that day, and no pot to collect at the end of it

Night games in Summer can work but the hard work the club has done in attracting families is more suited to earlier kick offs

When we played Fev in the cup they brought 607 according to ticket sales.

Who said that? On a Friday evening that was never going to happen, and I'd be surprised if anyone from Fev suggested it would.

Don't think you can compare a top of the table clash when we got presented a trophy at the end of it to a normal league game. It's not a matter of not liking change it's a matter of not liking having to sneak out of work early, rush home, wolf down some food and leg it to the ground. The attendance was very good last night though, the people of Leigh definitely made a special effort, lets hope they carry on doing so in the future.

The simple solution is to rotate the kick off times between Sunday and other days of the week. This will allow a range of people to attend who cannot make one date or the other. The more fans we get the more merchandise we sell, the more LISA memberships we sign up, the more LCTV we get signed up - that would more than offset any potential difference in crowd, which is debatable anyway. My mum cannot make it on a Sunday so she was there last night...it's swings and roundabouts..

That's not good for folks who buy a ST knowing that the majority of games would be on a Sunday, not bad for the opportunist fan though.

The more success we have the more the games will get switched to night games for TV audiences. Especially as we go up the leagues. Most SL teams don't have a problem selling season tickets with mixed game days. Embrace change.

How many games will be televised next year?
I'm all for embracing change but let's walk before we run.

Well the Friday night
We lost some regulars who couldnt make it but gained some that came for the night out .
It will only work with "big" games, if we tried it with say Swinton at home it wouldnt work .
However if we are on Sky on the future we could be asked to play Mondays, Thursday as well as the Friday, Saturday or Sunday !
