I think that sums it up perfectly, Steve. There's nothing more confidence-boosting than withstanding such intense early pressure, without conceding. Equally, it has to be confidence-sapping to attack like that and come up with zilch to show for it.

We have say 'very well done' to Dewsbury and move on and look forward to the next game. I know it's hard to take, after the first half of the season, but I still say we have short memories - look where we were this time last season!

Does not even things up as Batley have a average attendance (last year) of less than a thousand, this means we have to sign players, pay wages working to that budget. We do not have money men in charge just people who work hard as a team for the club, our team has a few individuals that may go higher but again our success is not based round the money spent it is based round all the players working together as a team.

If we averaged 2 thousand a match we would certainly be up there with the top 2/3 teams.

It is sport , if you follow a club , any club in any sport , you have to accept it

It's pretty much the same team as least season though just with a few additions, if someone had offered me 4th at the end of last season, I wouldn't have just ripped their arm off aI would have taken a leg aswell!

Well when I arrived at the LSV just before kick off I asked who was on the bench. When I was told I said to him well are you sure there is no cover at prop? We underestimated the opposition. Ah well.

It wasn't a mistake to play the Dual's today however, Blythe apart, it will be in future! I thought Dominic Brambini was sensational today for Dewsbury we had no answer to him, we didn't even clatter him!

But don't most other sports, have something definite to play for. Maybe the championship clubs should forget SL altogether and make the Championship a comp in its own right. I have no idea how, but something needs to be done

i think you'll find there was 7/8 new faces in that 17 yesterday.
and like you i would have excepted 4th at the start of the season.
perhaps we should'nt have started the season off so well.

If we hadn't had such a good start we could be in the same position as Haven.

on the other hand we might be finishing stronger and be full of confidence.

We have improved on last season.
However this team has played a helluva lot better (indeed 7 days earlier played a helluva lot better) so there is no excuse whatsoever.

I suspect the team underestimated Dewsbury (just as I think they underestimated Batley in the NRC).

This needs hammering out in time for next season and the end of this one.

As for Leigh , I'm expecting a massive improvement for the remaining games.

To me it was O'Conman talking his teams chances up. Nothing more, nothing less. It's pretty widely spread in sport.
