We've reached 2 in the last 2 years so I'd say looking alright unlike all your blind faith in 'league dominance'.

Tonks got a 2 game ban and a fine......so wont be playing on Thursday, RFL made an example of him which seems VERY harsh IMO as a SL player wouldnt of got banned.

History is relevant, albeit 5, 10 or 50 years. The only one I care about is 'on the actual day' after we have met, and I am very confident Leigh will have won, we usually do against WIdnes, well in recent history. (5 years)

True enough, Widnes have a better track record than us in recent years for winning things.

I am expecting a good season from widnes as we have strength in depth this year in all postions.Even with depth Betts is already looking at dual players from Wigan.

William Hills website is on the ball. They say the 2011 Championship is opening with a Yorkshire derby leigh v fev. Giving fev 4 start.

I love the Leigh forum. It makes a really good read and every year you see the same stuff. Best pack in the league, best team in the league, unbeaten all season. I think this could be the season where you may actually achieve one of them. Its going to be an interesting league as i think Fev are a touch weaker and teams like Leigh look to have improved. Widnes wont be anywhere near again, their team looks very average and with Betts at the helm they dont stand a chance. Same goes for Barrow, i wonder who their next coach will be. Top 3 will be Fev, Fax and Leigh in any order. I think im going to wait until we have lost our first 3 matches before putting money on us though.

Love to know how you work that out. You'd be surprised to see what immediate impact game by game Betts has had. Never mind a much stronger & well balanced squad this year. Widnes & Leigh have improved the rest have weakened IMO so should see a really though league.

I'm with you J20. I think the top four will be Fax, Leigh, Widnes and Fev. In which order could go down to who has the best squad and gets through tricky games when they have got injuries. I think Barrow will be a threat in about 6 weeks time when they've got a new coach.

I tipped widnes for top spot before the season started! For 68 minutes Widnes looked a very accommplished side at our place - then came within and inch of blowing it!!!!

Barrow are a very Jekil(?) & Hyde side as we witnessed last year. One game we tore them completely apart and they looked uninterested then within a week they nilled us in the playoffs and every player was on top form. To quote Lord Dez 'they only turn up when their getting paid' think that shows were their problem lies.

I agree matey i think some Fax fans need to go Spec Savers.

We have a balanced squad and players that we know have talent are starting to blossom.The youngsters such as Jack Owens,Craven,Lunt,Gore,Alex Brown are a year older and will play well if in the team.Grady has been moved to his best postion of secondrow and is improving all the time.Grady has been a standout player.New signings Ropati,Tyrer,Scully,I,Anson and Finnigan have strengthened our squad from last year.
