I hope Ian Millward isn't reading this thread. I can't believe all the whingers on here. New stadium, new coach, new beginning, new season and what a load of moaning old tarts. Sure it's a pity if the new date doesn't suit you, but at least there will be a game and the refunds are available. I am sure the club and Salford would have preferred a weekend date - but Christmas doesn't end until Epiphany (Jan 6th), so let's try and be festive and positive about the festive fixture......

I wasn't going to the Salford game anyway as four home games in a month begins to add up financially. It was my intention, and still is, to attend the Warrington and Wigan games as they are closer to the new season and I feel we'll all parties will be more ready and up for the challenge.

I realise we don't have any control over the costs of the games but four home games in a month really adds up and if there is more than one of you going it is far from cheap.

Did fans not read an earlier message of mine. Salford have given their players a weekend off covering New Years Eve, New Years Day, Saturday 2 Jan, Sunday 3 Jan - back at work Monday 4 Jan for a game at Leigh. A number of their players are away for the New Year celebrations, therefore couldnt agree to re-arrange it for the Sunday - or they would have.

Why would they read it.......Facts get in the way of a good moan.

I read it yes, and took it as good a reason as any for the Tuesday fixture, but doesn't stop me saying I would of prefered a Sunday fixture.

But wasn't this match supposed to be a good crowd to get good money in? They've blown that away now

This has been done to death.

Our club wanted to play on December 27. The authorities' not the club' said the match had to be cancelled.The authorities decided the approaches to the ground where unsafe.End of.

Why rearrange for a Tuesday night ? Ask the club I,m sure they will tell you.

Would the club have made more money had the game gone ahead rather than on the rearranged date ? I think the club would say yes we would.

The game will now be played January 5th if you can go then go if you can,t that's the way of things.

My personal view was I was looking forward to the game last Sunday and I was sorry it was not played.I am able to go on January 5 so I will.Some things are beyond the clubs control.

Looking at Salfords fixtures thats the only reasonable date they seem to have free as they are on holiday until the 4th then play Swinton on the 10th, way I see it is that it was either the 5th or never, so can't see how Leigh can control Salfords hols, their fixtures, the LSV safety officer or the weather, can anyone else?
