The RFL must act over the 'injury' delays seen over the last two weeks which have been an insult to all our intelligences. Very often when we have been on a roll too. Also to walk an injured player very slowly from 5 yards from the far touchline all the way over to the near touchline was a joke. Cats also abused the rules over personnel on the pitch regularly and despite being told by Anderson the ref did nothing

The RFL need to nip this in the bud quickly by laying the law down to the Coaches, play acting really creeping up in RL this season and we irisk a 'cry wolf' scenario as eventually refs will doubt the severity of an injury and play on.

No doubting we are all blinkered when it comes to refs. Having taken a colossal step up from the Championship to SL, we are naive enough to think we would see an improvement in officiating, to match that of the playing standards. It is very frustrating as a mere supporter, to witness some glaring inconsistencies in referees. It must be even more frustrating, as a player, to cope with that. All our defeats so far, have been down to the opposition being better than us, but some of the officiating has been incredibly inconsistent.

We still seem to have total confusion about markers being not square, or not retiring, with an attacking player running into them - unfortunately the refs seem to have 'discretion' in those cases. What is much worse for me, is the defending player lying behind the guy playing the ball - check how many times that happened last night. Just how is the dummy half supposed to pick up the ball and pass it quickly with someone lying in his way? Excellent tactic, especially on the last tackle!

Indeed Alan , I recall earlier in the season a ref telling one of our players to step forward into 2 nd marker , I didn't realise you have to have 2

We need a complete review of the rules , how they are to be interpreted , any no longer enforced ( voluntary tackle for instance ) should be removed , then everybody knows where they stand , Leeds have started holding the ball in the scrum ( 3 times against us ) to obtain a penalty , but I've seen other refs tell players to get back onside or back into the scrum rather than blow the whistle

Thornley clearly grounded the ball and the ref .gave us a penaltyafter disallowing the try. It has been known for a long time that Gigot.s appeal would be this week.Every team thinks that the ref.is against them. On other issues Stewart is primarily a defensive player ,but is also an attacking organiser .he was our best player last year and we miss him badly. Tonga was a disaster for us. I do not rate Pelissier ,But most Dragon's fans do.The coaches and President agreed with the negative view. Maria is a moderate standar player

Unfortunately it isn't simple Keith , we see a voluntary tackle in every game , but it doesn't get punished , what does happen though is we see players getting injured as happened last night

Could not agree more about the referees. They are incompetent rather tha biased. Naturally we all see things from our own teams point of view.

It has been demonstrated many times that being closer to the action does not mean a correct decision will be made

You believe being closer ( 6/8 feet away right in front and to the side ) doesn't make it more likely you will get a decision right than being sat in the stand or watching a video from behind the play ?

In that case why do video referees overturn decisions made by the referee when forced to make a try/no try decision.

It does make it more likely but that is not what you meant by your earlier post. You queried a fans interpretation by saying the ref was nearer the action. You were challenging a Cats supporter who disagreed with a refs decision about a try when he was quite clear in his own mind that a try should have been given.

When you are challenged and cannot rebut that challenge you try and deflect by raising a different issue. In this case qualifying your statement by inserting "more likely to get the decision right"

1 st , no video ref available for this game , only cameras high up in the opposite stand 70 metres away

2 nd , we have ' in goal ' officials at non TV games to help the ref , in both ' no try's ' this official was stood in front of the grounding with the touch judges close by

No I didn't say the Ref , I said " both officials " , read it again if you like , ' both officials ' being the touch judge and the in goal judge , the ref was also quite close but those two had the better view , so how many pairs of eyes only a few feet away got it wrong compared to some body either sat in the stand or through a recording over 50 yards away actuall behind the player ' scoring ' and the defenders ?

Ok but you did not in the post I read say which officials you were talking about. Yes I assumed that the referee was one of them. In any case it is the referee who makes the decision. Your assumption that the officials got it right is still open to doubt even though it is more likely that two pairs of eyes close by are better than one pair further away.

Many mistakes are seen by the crowd that are missed by the three at least officials. Even when there is a video ref and the benefit of slow motion they still make mistakes that are obvious to everyone else.

Right 1 st , I was at the game , but was a 100 + metres away from both incidents , I have however watched the Catalan produced TV highlights , in both incidents the touch and in goal judges are just a few feet away , so I am willing to accept their judgement before mine , if the try's had been given I would have accepted it
