Disagree on quality of players - we have recruited proven experienced players together with some younger recruits added to a number of top quality players we signed prior to the middle 8's last season. We are TWO games into the season hardly a time to be quoting bottom of the league. I am unaware who you support but very few teams will go and win at Cas and Friday's game speaks for itself, we simply should have won.

I have watched super league from Super league one and matches from 10 years ago were far and above more skilful and exciting compared to the current "arm wrestle".

Weston before Acton and Hopkins at the mo Mo, although Acton especially stood up on Friday (although you can still argue his discipline is at last chance saloon)
Maria and Green seemed ok from the 1st 2 games - can see quite a bit of rotation of the props early doors to keep them fresh and competing for places

Acton must play nobody gets us on the front foot like he does although he is being singled out by the officials, plenty elbows used by Leeds all game and nothing half a push and a binning, he will learn

Agree Mo,Acton must play, despite him being victimized. Briscoe milked it, and Acton got binned. On the 3rd tackle prior to the binning,there were 3 players all over pelly like a rash and he couldn't get up, and nowt given.

Milked it or not you cannot seriously be trying to condone that, Dawson (I think) was lucky enough but what the hell was Acton even doing there - unless he's deaf he should have been getting back in the defensive line

Maria impressed me, and don't get me wrong, reckon Acton could get a regular place in the 17 and push on to a very high standard indeed - but if he's not careful he could also become nothing more than a decent championship player due to his failings. We got away with the 10 mins in Friday (some may argue it cost us the game), can't do that regularly at this level

Dawson could claim he was committed and wasn't sure if Briscoe was over the line , Jamie was just daft as usual , he has to clean it up if he is to have a SL career

No, i'm not condoning it,it was silly to even touch him i agree, However Mc Shane should've been binned the week before for a far worse incident(spear tackle),but he wasn't,and like iv'e already mentioned about the heavy push on Crooks into Higson which could've been serious,and nothing said about that.Mr Hicks kept telling Gallen to have a word with his players today, Why did he not give them a team warning? He gave us 2 in 20 minutes against Hull Kr.

Needlessly putting us under the cosh with 12 men is criminal. This is Super League where 9 games out of 10 that would punish and cost us. Why he did it I do not know.

Irrespective of what Acton did prior, it is what his team mates did for him covering him whilst he was sat on his backside in the bin, and aided by a bombed scoring chance later that got him off the hook big time.

Yes,the unfair criticism heaped on Vae only served to save the bacon for Acton.

Pretty close game on Friday and quite competitive. I stated a couple of months back that you'd probably play well but struggle to get out of the bottom 4 which one of you didn't understand. This game is indicitive of what I meant.

Last season in SL we were similar, losing 7 games all season by 4 points or less (although some were a lot worse and drawing 2). Remember what happened to us? Entertaining yes, but you need to be on the other end of these marginal scores to survive. It's these games that you may regret come the end of the season, not the blow outs.

Still......early days yet.

Some clubs leave that to director of Rugby I understand, although a good club should have great dialogue between all key parties in the selection process, I don't believe a player gets approached directly unless it's niagra related. I do believe agents let owners know about availability and they would ultimately make the final call based on commercial reality, especially so if the coach had failed miserably the previous year unlike our current coach.

A bit hasty to suggest we need a clear out

This is a new squad which was assembled for the Super League!
We have only played two games and the P45s are out! Each game will be a learning curve which the first two games have proved! The game against Leeds was a marked improvement from the Cas game indeed, we should have beaten Leeds and that statement in its self, is encouraging! We made five changes from the Cas game which indicated the Coaches are still formulating their best side, the supporters should not be expecting too much too soon.
We all have our opinions and, quite rightly so however, lets show DB and the coaches we appreciate the time, effort and expense gone into assembling this squad to represent our club in Super League, it is a vastly more talented squad than the 2005 team so lets not talk of getting rid of players, don't forget, players like Vea, Pellisier et al have only played twice and have yet to play under the leadership of Captain Micky Higham.
We are suffering with injuries at the moment, (some quite serious, long term), every team gets those but I think we've pinched someone else's share!!
There are many positives from the first two games, the players now know what is required of them and, they can go about putting those requirements in place

IMO I would have though Jukes would make the decision on new players if he needs them. A great coach like Jukes will get the best out of what he's got.

We had to assemble a SL squad to take us up on multiple year contracts and then recruit what was available to keep us up, should we get in the T8 then the squad will evolve and improve as we establish as a SL club. I believe Jukesy and Derek work well together and respect each other.
