Don't think we have anything to worry about regarding financing the club as long as Derek is still involved. He'll be pulling the strings from behind the scenes. I doubt he'll take over as chairman at the present time.

Having read some of the posts that John has put on Twitter, it certainly seems like he has left on good terms and purely because of work commitments - something that may well have been a sudden decision by necessity looking at a contract his company have just won.

Sounds like you know his long term plans. Is he increasing his contribution and his stake? Is that what this is all about? One off player bonuses from DB's deep pockets to win the changing room? Out with the new, in with the old? If not, that's certainly what this smells like. I hope not, but have always worried that the old guard would bide their time, rebuild their power base and then slowly but surely sweep aside the 'big ideas men'.

But if he's got enough brass then what's to worry about?

On page 2 of this thread a board member states when they knew John was leaving. Now I don't know Neil but from his posts he comes across as being straight up. John has gone lets not start sturing things up folks.

Once again this is turning into a Doom and Gloom and Power Game , nobody knows why Mr Roddy has really resigned , all that concerns me is the good work the BOM have done this season carries on .There are to many assumptions by some lets wait till we hear it from the Official Source .I will be at Dews on Sunday cheering the boys on .

John spend s a lot of time in London due to work, probably down to this, but I wish him all the best what ever he does , he's done a very good job .

A very poor press release that pours petrol on a fire IMHO - saying nothing is better than that very short response.
We are still very much a work in progress as a sports club and learning so hopefully we'll learn from this and if there's a 'next time' be able to move to quickly to counter any form of bad news and maybe its something we could learn as a Chairman leaving totally out the blue with the club having achieved none of its goals thus far will make people think there is something wrong.

If John has left for business or private issues in my experience its better telling the employees (or in this case the fans) precisely why - no need for a intimate blow by blow details but a........

In his short time with the Centurions John has overseen the transition period which now see's our club in a sound financial footing and a strong Championship RL club that is going places.

I find this post a Tad disrespectful if I'm honest to the board as a whole considering many people have worked very hard for the cause a casing point being Steve Openshaw who has probably worked harder and done more for the club than any of us this last 12 months.
