I would imagine as it's because they are a business like any other who need to generate income and cover operating costs on a facility that isn't merely a RL stadium but a multi purpose/ use facility?

Had Swinton and ourselves been out of cup would be they be expected not to be open for business?

The real question is not about Featherstone and their attitude to Fridays it is why the LSV have given priority to Swinton, if it is because the LSV have allowed somebody to book a 'small' function on a Sunday during the season then someone should be sacked. I wonder if the LSV management have been caight with their pants down because they didn't expect Leigh or Swinton to be still in the Challenge Cup.

If Fev don't want to come on a Friday evening, it makes their coach's job very easy to get his lads fired up to 'make us pay'. I can't count the number of times this backward thinking has come back to bite us on the bum.

Of course that doesn't mean we shouldn't play on the Friday but don't trot out the old ' because they don't like it' garbage.

Yes they're a business but surely it's not too much to ask of them to 'hold' the Challenge Cup 5th round Sunday in case one (or two) of their two RL clubs get a home tie.

If you ask me it shows a complete disrespect to both ourselves and Swinton.

I also make you realise that the fact that it is in Leigh doesn't mean that the Centurions won't be kicked out if the business gets a better offer.

Leigh Centurions have NO say in how the Wigan Sports Village operates.

Well its no secret i HATE friday night rl. Will i be present if we reluctantly have to play fev on a fri, of course i will, will i be happy, no way. So swinton can play on a sundy, cos their small crowd wont impact on this function, i think all fans who hate fri rl should make the effort to swell the swinton/keighley gate, i know i will go to that game. It looks like to me, even if swunton had not been drawn at hone, we still would not of been able to use the lsv.

Agreed - not for the first time has LRFC been disadvantaged by the LSV booking arrangements on 'match day Sunday' or Swinton getting 'first footing' - stinks to me. Lets hope no game plans are made available to Fev on whatever day (or night) they say we have to play

Im glad its a Friday i couldnt attend any other day, any one who thinks playing Friday will give Leigh an advantage is an idiot. Wont make any difference it will however cut the crowd number in half. Financial suicide, you must really be loaded

I can attend whatever day we play!
Can't see how the RFL could stop us playing Friday night if we prove to them about the function on Sunday to be honest and as theres apprently a function Saturday too ,seems Friday nights our only option.
Can't believe a stadium built for sport would hold an event on a Sunday whilst there's a chance one of its partners the key word here is partner , could be playing .
Also they have two teams that In fact could be at home and lets face we usually do make this stage .
However our players have asked or Friday so they get a weekend off as they dont get any this season due to no Thursday games, so I can in a way understand why as its an opportunity for them to spend a weekend with their families etc .
Just hope it worth it and we get a place in the quarter finals .

So that makes it OK then, the players want it! Lets ignore the fact that it will lose a few grand on the gate, surprised we haven't had an announcement.

I'm told we have a coach who is 'paranoid' about doing anything to motivate our opponents. If our squad is 'tweeting' their desire to play on Friday, it looks like we may just be motivating Fev by doing that!

I don't like Fridays either, but of course I'll be there. Is there no way that the LSV can host a 'small' event, and a rugby match too? Surely the 'event' could be held in the banqueting suite, and those attending the rugby be isolated from that room?

Not my preference but it's still a perfectly good option. There is only one side making this awkward as far as I can see and it is not Leigh RLFC or LSV.

Most businesses I know would not take on a small contract knowing full well it may conflict with your biggest customer or even second biggest customers potential requirements.

The debate has changed from what is the best day to what is LSV's attitude to its allegedly main tenant.

No problem what so ever with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism but neither LSV nor Leigh Centurions is doing anything wrong here are they?

While we have a great relationship with LSV we are tenants albeit with a stake and the stadium is run by a Ltd company like any other with a management team and set of directors with the immediate aim of making enough money to cover costs and overhead and in time make a profit. We are the single biggest tenant at LSV which we use as our base and home and get priority over 99% of things so I honestly don't see the issue here.

Ideally commercially we would want the Sunday and while the players would prefer Friday if the stadium was available all three days we would decide as a board which day we play to suit the club as whole and it's fans and ideally to best accommodate the away team, however in this isolated incident we are not afforded that luxury, no real drama let's be honest though we share Featherstone's pain of having to get across on a weekday night as we've done it ourselves.

If the game can only be played on a Friday then end of story move on and either come or don't but to state people should be sacked or such like or to make a big drama out of it is ridiculous quite frankly as people who run LSV report to Directors who in turn have a responsibility to generate revenue and operate the business, would I run my business's and think I won't book any work in next month on the off chance something may or may not happen??? No business doesn't work like that.

If it means we have to play a cup game on a Friday night then as a partner we accept that and while we sympathise with Fev it's not our problem and we just have to get on with it and prepare for the game.

It's not the criticism that concerns me it's the fact we are doing so well as business, club and team on and off the pitch and it's clear there are some people we will never please whatever we do and are just sat waiting to pounce if/ when god forbid we do lose a game or two or they actually have something to moan about.

Better off leaving people to it and taking the advice of people who have said all along stay off that message board I think.

We have a website and TV channel and social media accounts in the clubs name so going forward these will be the official source of news from the club I'm sure I can find something to do with the time I once spent on here
