Anyone able to give a brief uopdate on what happening going forward and the reality of the situation as of tonight in terms of the clubs existance.

Reality of the situation is they need 70k now. Next seasons budgets have been approved by the RFL. Lots more info I'm sure will appear later

Very interesting listen.

Seems Keith Freer seemed to have alot of it under control. The HMRC debt is not included in the figure I mentioned, but he is in negotiations with them to pay it next year. He has had several meetings with the RFL and hopefully they are advancing us a fair chunk of the 70k, which will be repaid next year and is included in next seasons budget. I suspect they need at least 30k from other sources to get us to the end of November.

In the next 7-10 days Keith is hoping to be able to say it is all sorted.

Glad to be able to listen online - didn't make happy listening but great to know the club has plans for moving forward. Have e-mailed the ebay account to notify them of items I want to shift (I'll pay all postage costs). Joining LISA and the Lottery in a sec.

I remember doing a sponsored silence in the Steve Simms era to save our club (although I did actually ask for pepper during dinner). Hope to get out of the dark days again. I'm going to sign the hubby up too...he won't notice!

That was part of a presentation on how the club can widen it's appeal and awareness in the local community. There were some very good ideas in there actually and as was stated it all costs the club nothing.

It was Alan giving a deserved mention to the amount of work that Dave Parkinson does in terms of the match reports & broadcasts, all of which are a means of promoting the club and hopefully [ido[/i lead to increasing the revenue through the gate.

Wasn't able to rush back from work in time in the end but followed on Twitter and read reports on here.

Teh situation is still obviously concerning but also now the feeling seems positive that its something that can be fixed. I'm very impressed with how open they were with the answers. Its still clearly a tough time but I am encouraged by tonights events.

The Watcher felt very sorry for Freer & Coffey at tonights meeting, good luck to both of you in trying to clear up the mess left by your former college Mr Thomas. The Watcher is sure you guys have the balls to see the job done.

You were actually making some sense there until you ruined in! Anyone who gets involved with a pro sports club has got nothing but admiration from me as let's be honest all they do is chuck their money and time in to a black hole where they will never get any of it back - is it any wonder there are so few willing volunteers?!

The Watcher is stating his opinion, Mr Thomas left the club in a mess, yes AT was pumping in lots of money & we were enjoying the benefits of that on the pitch. However although it was good in the short term, the fact that Thomas made no provision to see the job through to the end (ie a bond placed in a bank so that payments could be met whatever happened, as a large builder would do when building houses) meant that we are now in a mess. With hindsight the other board members could of foreseen a possible situation of cash shortfall if Mr Thomas left for whatever reason & asked Arthur to deposit a fighting fund just in case it all went wrong.

Why don't YOU put YOUR money in to a bond?
