| Thats unfair, Dico, a friendly game that we were never gonna win. However you are right re the kids being the future, we have and still do give kids tickets through our community dept, which incidently won Community Club of the Year last season. Hannah and co their do a super job, we could do with a bit of help from the council too that run the ground if we are to get more people in.

| One games all well and good and I understand that it can be a money issue however, its all about habbit. People get in the habbit and old timers also lose the habbit im sure you've noticed this with declining attendances over the years.
Still, say you got 150 more kids coming with my 30 quid season ticket idea, I wouldnt be suprised if you were that worse off from what they pay now and.. kids have to bring parents.

| Another gem from the official RFL website, on Wakefield's plight! Speaking at the club's media day, CEO James Elston said:- [i“We’ve got somewhere to play (presumably while the new stadium is built) =#FF0000but I can’t confirm it at the moment because the costs would go up."[/i
Elston, who met the Rugby Football League this morning to provide them with assurances over their future, also confirmed the club were involved in negotiations =#FF0000to play their home games at Barnsley next season as they prepare to leave their ageing Belle Vue ground.
So much for keeping the venue secret!!

Well they've got pots of money Derek. According to the RFL (again) they have only raised £26k of the £500k needed by the end of January.
To the uninitiated, it might appear that the RFL is trying to cr*p on Wakefield!

| Alex's first season ticket cost me £10 - an end of season offer the club were doing in the Spinning Gate - last 4 gamses of the season for £10.
Now I might get these mixed up in order but the next season, it was a tenner for the full year. Home AND away games. The season after was, if I remember rightly was free if they went with a grown up ST holder. Home AND away games. Last season it was a tenner if you got it with an adult ticket. Home AND, yup you guessed it.
This season I think it rocketed to a massive £25. Shocking. Sack the Board. This time it's for away AND home games. The reason I can't quite remember how much it cost was because it was ridiculously cheap and I just added it to mine without even conisdering how ridiculously cheap it was.
She's watched Leyth now for 4 years, over 100 matches home and away, been to every Championship ground, and it's cost me less than £60.
Those who think the club are not doing their bit with kids ST prices need to give their heads a wobble. It's folk not taking up the offer we need to get to.

Fair doos.
I accept being wrong.
Its a shame that with such deals people wont watch their local team.
Call it recession, call it what you like, but anyone can afford that and im disappointed that more dont take up such an offer

which is precisleywhat i've been banging on about on previous Leyth and other threads usually to be shot down in flames by people telling me I don't understand the local culture etc etc
I'll try again (just as I have done with Limoux etc) - I live in a town of about 12000 inhabitants, our local RU team (no RL in this area) is in the equivalent of English division three or thereabouts and they still attract crowds of about 3000 which is a 25% turnout of the local population ! People here are proud of their team and try to follow it - Just imagine if any RL team had that percentage of locals behind them ?

The ST deal for juniors is a good deal and its a shame more can't/won't take up the offer.
The pay on the day for juniors isn't a good deal, the fans we need to attract to come long term will probablypay on the day so getting those prices right are vital.
The lost fans won't come back until we go in SL (if ever).
Its the new fans we need and unfortunatly as you say many don't know much about us and the offers we have on.
The community department is winning awards so we are doing things right and going in the right direction however theres no doubting Leigh are in competiton with a whole host of other leisure activities, watching Live RL isn't a big priority for many so the work is going to be very hard to attract new fans and we really have to keep pushing this.
We do need to look at what we do though and think of the many options available to 'sell' the club to the missing fans.
Took the nipper to Celtic v Aberdeen yesterday, payed £20.00 (a Semi Final Cup competiton).
Leigh v Quins today for the pair of us cost £21:00 with the result insignificant.
The advanatge Aberdeen had was it was a family ticket, Leigh did't have that option today (for whatever reason).
That needs adressing urgently and is a factor in peoples thinking when money is tight.
Leigh also lose out on not having a regular towncentre presence /off ground advertising hoarding.
A few weeks ago I followed a bus in Garstang with a small advert on the back that told me who Morecambe FC played next and how much it cost, on the way out of Lancaster later in the day I saw a wooden board telling me exactly the same info , 2 reminders of there game in a hour.
A lot of clubs will struggle outside of SL and its high profile , I do think though that some small gains could be made such as those used by Aberdeen and Moecambe, we do that correctly and we'll slowly see the average age of Leigh fans come down - or better our average attendances rocket upwards.

| Good call on the family ticket!
crusaders do a similar thing and it worked wonders for them last year. It was only available on advanced purchase though and that cheesed a few off when i was down at the racecourse.

| The problem is that all this advertising is not free and as far as I am aware our club has no money for such a campagne. What I would say though is that WMBC may still own advertising space in our towns thats probably not used anymore and a couple of calls wouldn't cost a lot but the printing would. All of this costs and I don't think we have the dosh. RFL come on down.

| You dont even need that.
Get one volunteer to stand on asda carpark on a saturday morning or put a flyer on every car windshield. You dont even have to go delivering, with an ASDA car park about 5000 people come to you in a day
