Supposing they came out and said "we've all put in £xxxx" then they'd get accused of showing off. I don't see why they should declare it to anyone, it's their business and I for one am just grateful they've got off their backsides and put their money into the club - however much it is.

As the Kevster said this scheme is in the very early stages so I imagine that we'll all get to know more about it in the near future.

Three ways of looking at this

1 A reasonably cheap and easy way for the club to encourage potential new sponsors

2 The start of a potential 1 K club for the future

3 Anything that brings new or more money into the club is good

Only dissapointing thing from me is I dont think we are addressing the most important problem the club has

From what I gather this funding was much needed, so much so that should it not have arrived then the club would of had some potentially serious issues, as quite rightly Mr Thomas could/would not be able to continue to fund the club to the level he has done previously.

Good luck to them and hopefully the 'Scheme' will be successful, but certainly in the short term this will change little in regard to on field issues and just keep the club going for a little while longer off field.

Absolute bollox

Great news and thanks to the guys involved. Any business taking any interest in our club should be encouraged no matter how much or how little they donate.

Blackpool FC have just introduced a freeze on season ticket prices (the PR put out is a 15% drop in season ticket price) and a 13% reduction in admission charges (after hiking it last lear and seeing a drop in attendances).
The feel good factor amongst that group of fans is through the roof (in what is largely likely to be a relegation battle season).

All sports clubs will have to review what they charge and the progressive ones will come up with pre purchase deals.
Leigh are way behind the pack and the marketing seems to be "lets hope they turn up" , reality check - crowds are dropping and people want value for money.
The Blackpool price drop was brought about after discussions with the supporters club.
Leigh need to get back a feel good "your club" factor which has been missing for a number of years.
Its a ideal time to start it as we are on the way down and peoples expectations (results wise) won't be as they where at season start and certainly not as 2 seasons ago.

I've banged on about a family ticket or something to attract the family to Leigh but for some reason a club that plays in a "family sport" doesn't see the huge potential of getting fans hooked very early by just creating a family member club in the part of the (huge-largely empty) stadia, get a injured player to be part of the match day experience, have the mascots involved, create various pre match games & raffles (heavon forbid utilise the stadium to get people in for more than 80mins

) and away we go.

Award season tickety loyalty with a automatic 20% reduction on a Leigh top (of choice) and scarf, 2 year season tickets at 1 year prices (you pay the same price for year 2 as year 1 so long as its payed all at once=money in the bank).
Award "walk up" support loyalty with a 2pounds off admission for the next home game if the ticket is purchased directly after the last home game(=money in the bank , potentially for a extra 4 weeks).
Use the programme to produce "money off vouchers" at various sports and local shops.

The use of business men is very very encouraging, however the fact more people are excited about a rumour of a ex coach coming back (and all that we remember from that era- proper team on & off the pitch with a "your club" mentality visible every week) says we are at low ebb and whatever benefits coming out of the LSV / Leigh centurions is viewed as bland and unimaginative.
Don't get me wrong its a hard sell - the RFL have basically killed the league for the time being and everygame has a pre season friendly feel, quite ironic they do feel like pre season friendlys as we managed to get 2 very good gates for totally meaningless fixtures, the trick is to market the remaining ones and get Leigh where it belongs, out the dead leagues and into SL.
Nothing has happened since we moved to the LSV, Time for our board to get this club up the ladder again.

I wasn't trying to do this down (although I think that £25/month entry level is a sign of how low our ambition is). As I also stated, I imagine that these guys' contributions are far in excess of that figure. Excellent.

However, I still believe it is fair to point out that LISA has contributed 100's of thousands to this club and have never owned a brass bean nor have they had any real say in how the club is run. Also... perks - so I presume that means free matches, hospitality etc, something that I understand LISA has never pursued. So what is the net benefit of this deal?

Now, this article suggests that for the princely sum of £25/month a "businessman" can come and have "some say: in how the club is run. The more you pay, the more say you get. WHat does this mean exactly?

All sounds very much like a supporters trust sort of arrangement to me, only this is for businesses only (?), whilst the most loyal fans can keep putting in their extra 60quid a year and ask for nor are given any extra perks whatsoever.

As I said, I'm not a member of LISA, but know how I'd feel if I had been for the last eight years.

Could Lisa not become a member of 'The corporate Group' then? Why don't they enquire?

I'm confused here....is it just LISA members that have put 100's 000's over the years ? How far do you go ? "Right I have paid my 14 quid to get in, now where is the boardroom ?"

Seems like another great step forward for the club, are these the 'business men' who are supposed to be paying for Millward? Like everyone else has said, it doesn't matter if it's £25 or £250, anyone willing to pump money into the club in the current financial climate takes a pat on the back from me.

If its money to pay Ian Millwards contact it will be money well spent !!!
