Very poor on the clubs and the RFL for not following this up and insisting they go on the sites. It takes one email to the right people, I've done it myself when Wales matches haven't been listed. No wonder people didn't turn up, I quite liked the concept.

Sheffield won 40-12 away to Carcassonne, Halifax won 54-26 away to Toulouse. The other game is Featherstone vs Pia at 3.

I suppose you could say that the entry of French clubs into the tournament is as pointless as the likes of Leigh entering the Challenge Cup.

When a decent Championship side gets to the quarter finals they do have a chance of making some money and the possibility of a shock win' however unprobable a win would be.

The clear flaw in the Anglo French comp is that each club plays one game so all four games are essentially friendlies and cost more to stage' meaning some ruling body has to pay for the cost of the games.

Again if this was champions v champions it could be taken on the road, maybe even played at one of the new rugby league clubs grounds... weekend in Northampton as an example anyone? That would be far better.. Give it some pomp and circumstance instead of it being a midseason friendly with a random french side..
