Can we have an exact figure from the new investors please. Is it £1.8million pounds over three years??? I think you owe it to the supporters of Leigh RLFC to tell them the exact amount of physical money that you will all be investing into Leigh RLFC. I mean the exact total crispy notes that you will all be investing and what players we will be targeting with this £1.8million pounds of investment. What players will be getting from Super League, because that amount of investment surely means they will be SL or NRL players. I think you are all absolutely fantastic to be doing this for Leigh RLFC and my best wishes go with you. Brilliant Investors!!!!

Steve, I really do applaud them all but that is only going to keep Leigh afloat. It's so sad. I really love Leigh but it needs a big money person to take them anywhere. Good luck to them and they have my best wishes.

There seems to be a misconception over how much the new BOM is putting into the club. I would suggest that £1.8 million is exaggerated by about six-fold. The figures quoted were a total per year, not per person, per year. However much, or little, you may consider the investments to be, it is all funding that we haven't previously enjoyed. So that has to be a positive.

That investment will then give the club the opportunity to go for funding from other sources, instead of constantly trying to keep our head above water.

Hopefully there will be a Fans Forum, in the near future, to further expand on plans.

Well I really do think they need to tell the supporters the exact amount they will all be contributing in physical money. I think they need to tell the supporters the truth. Have they got a lot of money or are they just helping Leigh to get through the next few years, hoping someone with real money will takeover. I think Leigh supporters deserve the truth, not a load of half-baked cliches that I have seen on the MB trying to whip up support for the new management. Leigh is a business and if you don't deliver to the customers, then you won't have any customers.

And I really think you need to shut up.

I think a man of your passion and undoubted vision and expertise, should join then by putting in your £8-10k pa for 3 years.

I really do despair of you ,I think your comments re. the BOM are out of order .They are putting money and their expertise into the club and still you find a reason to knock it .

And I don't see why "moaning Minnie" should be rewarded with a confidential call with one of the new BOM. Why should he have access to information that others do not?

Lets have some constructive input rather than haranguing people for not stumping up enough of their own money!

I'm more than happy to have a confidential conversation with anybody as I have already set out the basis of the new investment but would reiterate it in person if required.

Now you have a gripe with a bunch of guys who have put up cash and time to take the club forward when nobody else was stepping up to the plate?

I'd gladly tell any fan who turns up and pays money to support this club what I'm putting in and what my role is but you don't qualify so I suggest you either contact the club come in and air you views face to face when I return on monday or stop trying to create negative feeling towards the club the rest of us love and are looking forward to moving onwards.

And for any people who have doubts - the £75k put in by the management team could potentially be small fry compared to what could be generated if their hard work bears fruition, think you may be a bit limited this season but the next 2 years could be very interesting indeed.

As I have said before I am one of those fans who have drifted - up to 3 or so seasons ago was home and away and walking over hot coals to get to a game. This season not been at all, always seem to find a reason not to rather than the other way round. There appears to be 500 or so of me to work on.

I agree Mr chairman,wysiwyg can rant all day about the partnership and the several wigan players used already this season and i back him 100%, but he should stay away from this thread.
These chaps are probably the future for the next 3/5 years and we need to wish them well

Welcome to the world of RL club management gentlemen

The two keys here are:

1) Broad based participation
2) Sustainable investment

This is why the LISA model has worked. No one is chipping in millions, everyone is doing what they can and they are also prepared to do so for the medium to long haul.

Simply injecting $1.8M, even if it was available, would be money down the drain over a relatively short period of time without sustainable sources of revenue coming from a number of sources - i.e. broad-based.

Let's not forget that the money that will be invested is still highly significant - the difference between going bust and having a decent bedrock on which to build. As important is the associated expertise and passion that will unlock the clubs real potential. The gulf between us and the lower echelons of SL are actually not that insurmountable (do we really have less potential than Cas and Wakefield for example?) and will be less once the new RFL structure is in place.

If there was ever a time to put grievances and squabbling behind and focus on the big picture, this is it.

This ' Expertise ' , how different is it to the original consortium of 10 years ago?

It has the benifit of hindsight and what you guys did and didn't do Steve for one.

Derek for example will tell you he's a different animal to the one he was last time both financially and professionally.

It's not about anything other than making Leigh Centurions the best it can be.
