Exactly! The club is living hand to mouth and this is a great opportunity to a) make some money and b) win back fans. I appreciate they need to negotiate the best deal but that shouldn't take so long! People have lives outside of rugby league and will make other plans. That is the harsh reality, not everyone can afford to say that they will be there come what May because they have other commitments. It should have been sorted ASAP to allow the best part of two weeks to really push the game on the back of the draw hype.

If I were running a company and presented a huge opportunity like this I would be bending over backwards, even if that meant having to make concessions just so I could get it sorted and get the message out.

That is my point exactly people do have other commitments not least the guy who looks after or overseas our finances.

He works full time and am sure has other responsibilities in his life away from Leigh RLFC.

All I am saying is we will know today when and at what time we play the Pies and how much tickets are.

Anyone reading this thread would think organising' for most Leythers a 7 mile trip takes Leythers a lot of brain work

Well there is the matter of organising coaches - tickets need printing for example.
I've had my finger on the button all week to get the tickets sorted to have on sale from today but due to the delay I will unfortunately not be able to do them now.

Typical RL no wonder people are getting fed up with Rugby League simple things like organising a day to play and they struggle to do that ..

Is anybody any closer to knowing what day this game will take place? as i am having a lot of friends asking me who dont usually come to the game, when is it going to take place as they want to come and support the team and get that away end bouncing!!

Someone said on the forum there would be an announcement today st 9am but still nothing.i need to know today if its Friday to sort work and DJ commitments out.

Can you pay on the gate at Wigan matt or do you need to purchase a ticket at the DW stadium just prior to entering the DW Matt?

There is not a cat in hells chance I can get down to LSV for tickets next week.

Yeah you'll be able to pay on the gate. The £2 discount for season ticket holders will only apply until 5pm Thursday though (and similarly the free entry for junior season ticket holders).

Can you reserve places for the Wigan coach and pay on the day? I will probably need a few seats but likewise with the LSV for match tickets, I will not be able to get down to Leigh town centre during the week.

Would not think so , it will most likely be unreserved seating inside the away end.

This has been very poor regarding confirming date and time, how many people would of liked to of got there tickets tomorrow morning I for one cant get to the LSV next week due to work commitments, also think it should of been £15 max, hope we still get a good crowd after all the messing about!!

Haven't got a problem with the price but agree with everything else.
Our board need to snap out of sleep walking with business decisions and grasp every opportunity.
A bit of a explanation of what is going on would be expected as its now the year 2013 and 99.99% of people expect (and in most cases demand) up to the second information, it takes circa 1 minute to knock up a press release on twitter / facebook.

Mistakes **must** be learned, our information supply needs improving again.
If that means the board purchase a blackberry for one of the people at the club or a committed volunteer like a Dave P, Andrew ,Alan ,Mish etc, etc to get real time info out on twitter/Facebook/Leigh life / this message board then invest in it.
We also need to wake up and quickly snap out of the 'little Leigh' mentality - not everyone lives 5mins from the LSV, lets now start to act like a professional sports business.

After this 'own goal' its time for it to be put to bed and make sure we now go full tilt at getting as many Leigh fans down to the Wigan stadium but at the same time point out who our next home game is, is it too late to do a double deal offer if purchased at the LSV or on line via our ticket office- Wigan ticket for £16.00 , Batley ticket for £14.00 (£30.00 for two games).
Get as much tat and merchandise on sale as possible, get all our partner business's and town centre pubs and shops sympathetic to our cause to carry a poster or even window dress, buy into the community and get them to buy into us- make it eye catching and effective, Wigan are 'the enemy' to many , use that to our advantage, get fans to get the Leigh car flags out this week, Leigh flags hanging from house windows etc, etc - get the fans to show the colours, the domino effect could be finacially worthwhile longterm.
I'm sure as fans we'll now be no doubt talking to ex /fed up fans that this game is coming up so we can do our bit to get people interested and talking positively about our club.
I expect our club to lead on this and would hope Trevor and his team have had a plan being built since Monday afternoon to maximise every single penny available , this year we have had a mare and at times been a PR disastor off the field, its time now we made up for some losses and started to drive the Leigh Centurions brand to the very public the club is supposed to represent.
