| I have been told your caterers come from Huddersfield,no wonder it is a rip off, i understand the Park Inn is the best value for a pre-match meal thats where i will be heading on our visit.

| We go Leigh East cheap food and beer and a stone throw from the ground. Also amatuer rugby being played there every Sunday, for prematch entertainment.

| Quote ="Alexs Dad"Kids......
At HP, they could wander round a bit, facepaint and bouncy castle beforehand, our Alex (9yo) enjoyed the afternoon out with a couple of mates. A couple of drinks in the MM, meeting a few players, it was a safe enough haven for them to learn a bit of social independance.
At a younger (and controlable) age they just want to move about and explore a bit, follow Parky or whatever its called now, wander over to the tunnel when the players are going through, that kind of stuff.
Now and again they'd watch some of the rugby too. But every home game they looked forward to it.
Now they sit on a seat for 80 minutes watching rugby that can test the patience of many a man. Its free, yes, but its bloody boring for them too.
'" Not being funny but it is a rugby match not a fun day i can understand certain issues but it is all well and done shouting you dont like etc just stop moaning or just don't go its our new home and i for one like it, it is better than the old Hilton park by a country mile we have to move with the times when the ground does fill its a good atmosphere take the Wigan friendly that had the atmosphere but we are a long way from those days yet the club needs support not constant moaning of we don't like this and that its the first season at the venue for gods sake there are bound to be issues but as a club it needs support!

| I know someone who's company has paid over £5000 for a box for the season. This company is a good sponsor for Leigh, and had been for quite a while.
They don't normally eat in the box because it's too expensive so they've been going to the hotel. However on Sunday they had some guests and asked if they could have the Mother's Day meal. 'Certainly Sir, that'll be £35 per guest' was the reply and my friend went on to explain that he already had a match day ticket and had already paid for a box and couldn't he just pay for the meal? 'Sorry Sir you'll have to pay £35 to have the meal!
My friend and his clients were appalled - is this the way to treat one of our biggest sponsors? I think not!!
BTW, £35 was the price for a ticket and meal in the Mothers Day package!
How can you run a business like this?

I know, and the management company are going to run the club down to the ground unless someone gets a grip of what's happening there.
I just can't believe what's happening TBH. The whole thing seems to be turning into a nightmare!

| therin lies the problem mish the sponsor was a Leigh Cent sponsor and not a LSV catering company one, one thing you mcan rely on was that someone in the sponsors 'party' will have gone away blaming the centurions.

| Quote ="mr. chairman"the lsv do read this board fact. our meeting with them confirmed this as they said they had people up at leigh east to see how many fans used the bar and they did not like what they saw on the forum regarding east promoting themselves as a pre and post match venue . we collapsed with laughter on hearing this , so if your reading this simon toone , come on down to leigh east for some good cheap food and cheap beer
'"
These comments beggars belief. What do they expect? I applaud the efforts of Leigh East, The Ellesmere, Our House and the Park Inn who are making an effort to do something for the fans on match day.
Compare that to the Legends bar, no advertising, no offers, slap a £2 charge on each fan and then wonder why no one goes in.
I would suggest that the management of Leigh/LSV (never quite sure myself where one starts and the other ends) take a leaf out Mr Chairman’s book on how to promote their club/stadium.
As far as I can see he takes every opportunity to promote the Leigh East in a positive manner and keep people up-to-date without letting out matters that should be kept within the club.
Whenever I go on other clubs forum’s again he there promoting his club and inviting them down. Other than his own time this doesn’t require a huge marketing budget. So instead of the LSV criticising him, they should be fighting back and showing what they are made of.

Did you say all that without taking a breath?
I'd agree about the whining etc, yes LSV is an infinatly better facility and you will find that 99% of the time I will back the club up on whatever happens.
Regarding the kids, it does have to be a fun day for them otherwise they are bored rigid. Its not a game of rugby to them, (in the same sense as it is to you and me), its an 'occasion' they need to enjoy.

'Away' stands (South and East) are sitting only. The North Stand is standing only. However, currently, only the West and North stands have been open, so if that's the case, when we play you, you may be able to stand!

That's absolutely brilliant - thanks, Keith.
I was asked, how we could sell more programmes and my simplistic answer was - 'Atttract more people to the games'. Easy, isn't it?

| It seems the majority of supporters want a MM type bar at the LSV, what about a full boycott of the Legends bar until they do? Well all of the 5ish people who go will need to agree.

I wonder if folk would then get to the ground early, pick up tickets, meet up in the supporters bar with mates, have a few beers and go into the ground.
If you are having a beer and dont have a ticket you are not going to walk to the ground to walk to a pub to walk back to the ground.

| I must admit I find the stewards at the new stadium petty & aggressive. My kids really like the not being open to the elements. I think the owners of the stadium need to look at making the East Stand terracing & include a supporters bar. At the moment its a soccer stadium with an RL team in it, it needs to change to an RL stadium quickly or it will lose supporters, i already make excusses not to go & regret getting a season ticket.

and the only time I ever drink in an office is when I'm on the clock!!

Not possible , the cost would be huge , you are right though , having the East stand as the home standing part of the stadium with a bar underneath similar to the ones at New Craven Park and Post Office road would have been ideal , the away fans could have congregated together and swapped side with the home fans creating a much better atmosphere
Too late now though , they'll have to work much harder now to make it work , they were told all this though beforehand of course , but they know better dont they
All this ' new stadium factor crap ' that attendances always rise as they did at Warrington and Hull

Attendances also rose at Widnes with no standing and many years unfinished, but if the guests are made to feel unwelcome and the show is poor quality the gates will drop no matter what.
We live in a commercial world where we must compete for the reduced disposable income out there, and we are currently doing it badly.
