all played SL. Plus Brown, Turner, Szostak who all came through good academies so missed out on first team and the three South Sea Islanders. Not exactly a poor side lacking experience. Brambani and Knowles, been around the block too.

Coulda won last night with correct refereeing decisions and a luckier bounce of ball. Mind you, first 60 seconds pretty awful!
Already looking forward to next season, but we need a bit bigger squad- another 5? Should include a couple of "monster" type Yorkshire forwards!

There is some bullying on here on the sneak isn't there? All that is being said, is that this was the first time in a couple of years that fev have looked beatable, couple of pastings at home etc. and we've completely bottled it again. Regardless of whoever was fit last night, if they had been instructed correctly they would have won comfortably. It didn't take wayne bennett to see that our defensive line wasn't quick enough, we kicked well but didnt chase it and that every time the ball went out to pownall we looked dangerous. all this was clear to see in the first 20, and we didn't act on it. I still maintain that rowley is the man for the job, but if we find ourselves losing in the same situations next year, then its clear he hasn't learned, but that can't really be judged at the moment can it?

Again i agree Mooka is entitled to his opinions , they are certainly NOT , what i feel about Leigh or Paul R ,i was just as much gutted as everyone else after last nights game, but after watching it again on TV , i felt we could have won .

Next year will be different , a couple of new faces coming in , a big fit pack ,a trip to the Promised Land in the NRC Final , maybe the League Leaders shield , happy days , my faith is in the club .

Lets start to support them and hopefully raise some cash to give Paul R the tools for the job , after all a Surgeon cant replace a HIP , with a knife and fork .

I have to say that his/her first post on this thread was an aggressive one and very pointed that is why paope who love and follow this club tirelessly have got the hump with him/her. I am totaly against bullying on here and have fought for people who have had it done to them, but don't post on here with that sort of attitude and not expect to get an adverse reaction. Especially when our season has just come to an end. Tact is the name of the game.

Some fans are now finding it hard to get excited about winning a competition, when it actually means nothing.
We need Mr Wood and his merry men to "do one" and P and R to be brought back, then we will see an increase in crowds and interest. Some goes for SL too the relegation battles in the past brought in good crowds.
Imagine what it would have been like last night if losing mean't not going up?

So then why are the same fans so gutted about losing last night seeing that it is a meaningless competition? I am sure most of the fans who went last night were very excited when the fightback began.

I'm a Leigh fan, you've got to question the higher powers when you don't achieve your season goals? It's natural, I've nothing against Rowley...........

What would say our goals should have been then seeing as we were on the brink of bankrupsy, had no money, a skeleton squad. Hardly any paid coaching staff and a three man board? What did you really expect a club in that shape to reallise.

Let's not feel sorry for ourselves, thats the worse thing you can do............... We assembled a decent enough squad to win at least one trophey, I think we've underachieved........ 2013 should hopefully bring trophies............. with the signings we've made........... if not, somethings going wrong

Mooka we have NOT underachieved this season , only in your opinion , which you are entitled to , as has been said , this time last year we had very little , so to finished 2nd in the League is very good , nobody was more upset then me we didnt get to Blackpool , but as there are only 2 trophies on offer in a season , to win as you say "Trophies ", we would have to win everything .

As for next year , i to expect a big improvement , and feel Paul R is the man to lead us , im impressed with the players we have signed , and expect maybe 2 more , even then we are capable of mounting a challenge to Fev .

Do you think Fev would have beat us in the play-offs if Dickens ,Maloney ,Spears , and England had been missing from their pack ?NO WAY .
